Ideal Season 4 driver lineup

I know this is very early but was just thinking to myself, what would be the ideal lineup in season four. Here is what I think, please post your own ideas & thoughts although it would be good if we could keep it reasonably sensible, (e.g. no Lewis Hamilton for Team GBR).

Australia - Ryan Briscoe
Argentina - Don't know. Who is currently any good?
Austria - Patrick Friesacher and Alex Wurz if he wants to have some fun.
Bahrain - Hamad Al Fardan. Would be nice to have another Middle East team.
Belgium - Don't know. Who is currently any good?
Brazil - Sergio Jiminez and Antonio Pizzonia
Canada - Robert Wickens and Paul Tracy
China - Frankie Cheng Congfu
Czech Republic - Tomas Enge
Finland - Mika Salo, an oldie but a goodie.
France - Loic Duval and Nicolas Lapierre
Germany - Michael Ammermuller, Christian Vietoris and Ralf Schumacher as a special guest pay driver.
Great Britain - Robbie Kerr and Oliver Jarvis
India - Karun Chandhok (assuming he is not at Force India F1 for '09)
Indonesia - Satrio Hermanto (not much choice available)
Ireland - Adam Carroll
Italy - Giancarlo Fisichella (assuming '08 is his F1 swansong) and Giorgio Pantano
Japan - Satoshi Motoyama and Ryo Fukuda, or whoever else is good these days.
Lebanon - Chris Alajajian, unless Fernando Alonso, having been blown off by Piquet Jnr, discovers Lebanese heritage. He did after all at one point have an Alajajian style goatee.
Malaysia - Alex Yoong
Mexico - Salvador Duran
Netherlands - Jeroen Bleekemolen and Chris Van der Drift if he decides he's Dutch and not Kiwi.
New Zealand - Jonny Reid and Brendon Hartley
Portugal - Alvaro Parente
Russia - Mikael Aleshin
Spain - Javier Villa (if Pedro De La Rosa is still with McLaren cannot see him racing in a Ferrari backed series, even during F1 testing breaks)
South Africa - Adrian Zaugg
Sweden - Don't know. Who is currently good?
Switzerland - Neel Jani, Sebastian Buemi and Romain Grosjean. Not bad for a country where the sport is banned!
United States - Marco Andretti
Venezuela - Ernesto Viso and Pastor Maldonado

A nice 31 car grid.

It takes a long time mainly because of there are so many drivers to pick from, and countries like Germany and Italy ect ect have thousands and thousands of drivers...

I wonder if we will see Zahir Ali in rookie sessions for Indonesia before long. Would make sense. A big call to suggest Jazeman Jaafar for Malaysia, he's only about 14 years old at the moment!

My choice for Ireland would be Damien Faulkner, I dont understand why he has'nt been given a run in the car yet.

By the way who is Robert Bulter?

I'm not going to do a list yet because of the time factor, but I think that one of the reasons why the standard in A1GP has improved so much this year is that, by and large, nations have chosen the best possible available drivers.

If you abandon that principle and start choosing relatively unkown drivers, you are going to set the whole thing back to square one or worse.

Sorry to be critical, by implication, of some of the posts here, but in my view it is a fundamental point. I, for one, would certainly lose interest and, much more importantly, I don't believe Ferrari would be very impressed.

I don't have time to make a list at the moment, but one thing should feature.

Estonia - Marko Asmer.

Don't want to ruin this thread, but does anyone have any idea how many cars will be on the grid for season 4? Will the Ferrari partnership make it cheaper to run, or just more appealling to new players? Thanks for your help!!

I heard they will have 26 cars on the grid next year, and about 10 candidates to fill in the last 4 spots. Belgium, Luxemburg, Thailand and Finland are known contenders, Spain, Sweden, Iceland and Nigeria among those rumoured.

Off course, some teams may return. According to Christian Murchison, they're trying to revive team Singapore for instance.

Does anyone know of a capable driver from Luxembourg? Or will it be a nationality wheeze entry, like Adam Carroll for Republic of Ireland and Graham Rahal testing for Lebanon (!).

I attended the A1GP round at Eastern Creek in Australia. Even though I am Australian and consider myself an Australian, I have Dutch in my blood, so I follow them a lot as well. Does anyone know of the situation next season for The Netherlands? Will Jeroen Bleekemolen (who I rate highly as a driver) still be the lead driver next season?

I wonder why. Team Singapore didn't really add anything last time and they would never be competitive, and Singapore will catch F1 fever this year. They should be concentrating on countries where there is strong interest, not A1GP trying to create teams.

In Zhuhai Tony T stated there will be 26 cars next year. My 'ideal' lineup would include more. Estonia would be a good idea if Marko Asmer is not too busy with his F1 testing role.

Well, they still hold the franchise, and Ferrari coming aboard creates dollar signs in the eyes of some people. And be honest: Murchison isn't a bad driver. He just didn't have a proper engineer since Malaysia 2006, or a proper team for that matter.

Luxembourg drivers ? I'd say watch out for the Hauser brothers.. they entered the ATS F3 cup this year seemingly unnoticed, but they are getting there.

As for whether I know if Jeroen will still be driving next year: I don't know. Jeroen will probably continue to drive untill either he is bored or the team is bored, or Jeroen gets an offer he can not refuse ( IRL, Champcar, F1, Superleague Formula ). Other than that, I can not see him quitting anytime soon.
