This victory margin has helped put him back in the thick of the championship fight. This is as exciting as the real F1 battle. Just 20 points separate the Mexican winner (4th in the championship) to the leader, smellysocks. Born Racer Fan and I made tiny inroads on his championship lead.

What happened in Mexico

Of the 13 entries, 7 predicted the winner Verstappen. 3 predicted Pérez to take victory in his homeland and just 2 chose Hamilton, with 1 opting for Bottas.

The top 3 race finishers were identical to the US.

8 people predicted Hamilton to be 2nd in qualifying, yet this was the only correctly predicted qualifying place apart from crmalcolm's pick of Verstappen in 3rd.

3 predictors (Teretonga, TrapezeArtist, BTCC frog) correctly went for Bottas as the fastest lap holder.

Only wolfhound managed to anticipate Williams's fastest pit stop.

4 got the Rate the Grand Prix score of 6.

9 out of the 13 guessed that Pérez would be driver of the day of formula1.com.

5 got that Verstappen would get Driver of the Grand Prix and 8 that Red Bull would win Team of the Grand Prix.

5 predicted Leclerc and Sainz as finishing 6th and 7th (although they actually ended up 5th and 6th respectively in that order), with 4 guessing the right finishing order.

(not really - as always everyone is free to make their own choice - it just seems strange when you read comments regarding the race).

@BornRacer - I know the rules state that entrants in the contest have their votes removed from the polls for the purposes of this contest. Is there scope for a mean or median calculation to be made as opposed to the mode in future years? If I look at this race (and not exclude the entrants here) the mode is 6, but the mean is actually 4.58 and the median is 5 which seem to be a better reflection on the event's rating?
