Big Andy, not see your SC100 before.. what do you run it in now (if anything)?

Haggispeed, thanks for a few more names, I think David Enderby's car has been converted back to a Lola : http://www.lolaheritage.co.uk/phpBB2...pic.php?t=1179 .. I'll see if I can find some more about the others.

Thanks for the continued help. At the moment I'm just trying to get together a list of the cars that are still rolling (preferably under their own power), so I can then start contacting owners to get the ball rolling.

Renault 5 racer.... Renault 5 yes - Racer.... not so sure about that bit although it the first time I managed to get my pic in Autosport

The discussion on the Lola Ghia has been covered extensively elsewhere, David's is a Tiga and as Driftwood says is still the Karmann Ghia.
That's one Clive remembers well

Can someone correct me either way with the Minshaw and Hazelwood Daf situation, are they the same car (could save some wasted phone calls down the line )*** Solved now *** thanks (again) driftwood.

Big Andy : how many of the cars on your list are matched to ones in that list ^^ (I guess at least 2 of the sc100s)

sc100 3
imps 2
escorts 1
daf 1
firenza 3
beetle 1
mini 2
metro 2
kitten 1
skoda 2
fiat 1
toyota 1

Any help filling in the blanks, or adding cars to the list that we know are still running (in one form or another) would be really helpful.

From memory Joyn Maguire built 1 skoda with 1300 bda? and Tom shphard worked at Maguires race dtehcar 2 or 3 times poss don GT and 1 wendy wools type special saloon race circa 1980/81
car was sold to the sprinter hillclimber with the car being run by ernie larton and had hand operated clutch on gear lever for the driver
Im sure he was mike hands?
my father bought his 1 litre Maguire which was the first Maguire Imp built that George Coghill ran in scotland

we took the Imp back to Maguires for a re jig/check out and saw the Lotus esprit GT car built ready for Roger Matthews to collect
2 years later he sold the car to my father !
he ran the car till 89 and sold it
recently the roller was for sale less eng gbox
i was tempted to buy it but i thought why tie up money in a car i cant run anywhere and it will cost me ££12k-15k to get running again
Im sentimental but not that sentimental!

do not believe they are the same car
The Maguire car for Meredith would have been a straight "from scratch" build car

Im sure Ginger kept the steel shel mini traveller and swapped the engine gearbox to Kitten later he made his own block to replace the Imp block in Kitten

The Mini Traveller predated the Kitten. It was steel-shelled, but light, and originally had a Marshall and Fraser 5 port A-series motor, later to be replaced by the first hybrid Imp lump.

The M&F Kitten was of course a monocoque, and not a spaceframe. Just as the Traveller was preferred over the saloon because of its better aero and 4" longer wheelbase, so the Kitten was selected over the Traveller.

Later on in its career, the heavily modded. Imp block was replaced by a unit of M&F's own creation.

I do believe that the Traveller did indeed go to John Meredith.

I believe I actually know some people that might fit the bill.

Thank you for the continued info on all this...

Inevitable question,.. does John Meredith still have the traveller?

Also I'm wondering if the other Kitten that lives up North is the old Beardmore Brothers V8 one http://www.beardmorebros.co.uk/websi...ant_kitten.htm which ended up oop North doing speed events. Obviously not a super saloon,.. but still an excellent build
