so whats that all about then ?
over the Christmas/new year break i went bush for a week or so and had a great time in Queensland.
but on the 1st of january i trekked out of the bush and headed for maryborough speedway for the queensland street sedans titles. I was impressed with the track , not bad for a little place like that but something caught my eye. in the street sedans they actually carry a passenger during the race itslef !!!!! i have never seen this before and found it totally crazy really but didnt think anything of it until there was an allmighty crash where a car rolled several times. instead of having just the driver to get out of the car the rescue team had the passenger as well to worry about. thankfully it seems both were Ok but the passenegr did need to go to hospital to be checked out but they were not rushing and waited for a replacement ambulance , so injuries were obviously not life threatening. but why do they run this series with a passenger ??? does anyone know what this is all about ??? P.S thanks to maryborough speedway i totally enjoyed myself there that night and they turned on a cracker of an event |

Yeah, a lot of the stock classes up this way seem to have someone with a death wise in the co-pilots seat. I could see it making sense in the juniors, but maybe it's just a way for the driver to subsidise their fuel bill??

we have the bombers down here in tassie. they have to have a passenger and they never use yellow flags. red flags are used when a car rolls, loses a wheel or someone signals that they are hurt.

The QSCA street sedans could be likened to the ASCF and RSA Street stock/ers that NSW and Vic have...Why they run a passenger I'm not sure (something to do with left side weight??), but a vast majority of QLD sedan type divisions run a passenger....and there are many many stock sedan type divisions in qld all with their own rules. I myself have been a passenger, and I saw no point other than having a front seat view of the action.

And with the son of a Victorian Speedway owner reputed to have spent between $50 & $60 K on a Modifed sedan ; I'd have to agree; simply AWESOME (stupidity) |

I like the Modified Production class. It's the big Corvettes Super Sedans etc that i can't relate to. They look nothing like a production car at all.
