Speeddemon555 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Touring Cars in the U.S.

Hi guys, The U.S. has its own touring cars series. Its called the Speedvision World Challenge and they put a touring car division for auto racing fans in this country. The SCCA(Sports Car Club of America) is the sanctioning body that conducts touring car events.
The cars in the series are Acura, BMW, Mazda, Honda, Ford, Nissan and Volkswagon. David Leslie is in the states for the series driving the #2 Mazda 626, he's the former BTCC series driver. Hope you guys enjoy the British Touring Car Championship races. I am enjoying here also, the next touring car race is in Sear Points, California in late July.

Yes, its the same company, but touring car teams use the Acura and Honda Brands in a separate entity. The Real Time Acura team is the top front runner in the SCCA Speedvision Touring Car Series. I don't get to see the British Touring Car Serieson tv here in the states., but I enjoy playing a Touring Car video game for Playstation.

ure not missing much at the mo cos theres only one team winning and it does get boring!
i admit it was exciting at first with the new rules, but then it got boring, there was a brief bit of excitement when the lexus looked competitive but now its dropped back wih the peugeots!!! we can only hope MG bring something extra to the fold!

I think what they mean by "world" is anyone can be in it, so it's a "world" challenge to win. I have thought about that before, as I live in the states.

Acura are Honda yes. it's like Vauxhall are also Opel and Holden , but I don't see why they need different names for the same manufacture in different countries , seems rather pointless.

Infiniti is Nissan, Johan. They used to make Indy Racing League engines but weren't very successful.

Nissan is still building IRL engines. Recently, they brought in the Renault F1 engine guru who served up to '91/'92 to help design their engines. That's not suprising since Renault now owns Nissan. It looks like Nissan is in for the long haul?

They should launch a WC touring car team with their upcoming Sentra GTR.

I expect one of Nissan or Renault to be back in the BTCC before too long, hopefully!
