dubai in trouble

http://business.timesonline.co.uk/to...cle6934221.ece

sounds like there may be a issue with the whole country being built on debt
the CBA here also may be in the poop http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/s...005962,00.html

Smokin, the country is built on the shifting Sands of the East......

Debt might just be part of that shift.

You call that a debt? Now this is a debt! - USA's total debt at July was $11,669,251,349,504.65. Approx $38,000 for every person in the USA...

America has a lot to be worried about!

Since it's the Chinese that are mostly funding the Americans, China have a lot to worry about too.

No one is entirely safe in these times, but at the end of the day, life will go on - probably.

True, but in the context of this forum does it put VE$A's February jolly at risk? As I understand the Dubai government make a nice contribution to the coffers and its unlikely gate receipts will cover the costs, based on the crowds at the previous Eastern events.

Dude, the V8s do not race in Dubai so I think that you're heading down the wrong track there. Abu Dhabi is a separate Emirate within a federation so it is kinda like suggesting that the Homebush race is at risk if the Qld government had a lot of debt.

America's enormous debt has not stopped the American government from providing substantial bailouts.

Dubai government makes a contribution to whose coffers?

I don't think Abu Dhabi's exposure to Dubai's problems is a dealbreaker for the Abu Dhabi round, if that's what this thread is a reference to.

Effectively, Abu Dhabi is coming in and taking over Dubai, keeping it afloat. Abu Dhabi has taken a grow slowly approach and built on more solid foundations.

Wow, the problems of one completely seperate Emirate being used to infer problems with another.

Let's dumb it down a bit, this is like assuming that because Wakefield Park is in trouble, Winton is too. Oh, wait....
