It may also be a private message system. If Keating aren't replying to something, so they've notified on the full system. No idea.

SMP is doing a good job to stay just 5 laps back. For reference here is the distance behind the race winner the top P1 privateer finished in recent years:
2018 12 Laps 3rd place Rebellion 2017 No privateer finishers 2016 54 laps 29th place Rebellion 2015 59 laps 18th place Rebellion 2014 19 laps 4th place Rebellion 2013 16 laps 6th place Strakka 2012 11 laps 4th place Rebellion 2011 14 laps 5th place Team Oreca Matmut 2010 28 laps 4th place Team Oreca Matmut |

The RCN is a private messaging service between each team and race control. If they get no reply, then they get called out on the timing screen.

Ganassi swapped the nose on the Keating car for them. Interesting!

For the first several hours the race was all about which of a few cars would win which class. Then it became which would survive to win in each class. Two hours left, and it is all about whether the class leaders will err/get caught in someone's error.
Tired but not bored. |

Not too bad for Keating, a slightly longer stop but they needed an additional stop anyway, both they and the Porsche now only need one more.

Lopez to finish the 7. Brave.
Not sure why the Keating nose had to be changed. ACO requested it be done at the next stop, but it's been like that for about 10 hours. |

I like it when cars look like they have been in a 24 hour race at the end. Can't believe they were made to change the nose. I understand if it is flapping bodywork or something, but to make them change the nose after it has been the same for 10 hours is ridiculous.

they just showed one of the Ganassi guys talking to one of the Keating guys, and another was just standing there, body languageing "I could've done that myself, easy. no help needed" |

Rough calculations, but I think the AF Corse car will need an additional splash of fuel -about 5 laps short by my reckoning
Leads the Porsches by a minute |

I am really missing the days of doing whatever you needed to, to get the car to the end. Reliability has taken a lot of fun out of this sport. I remember how irritated I was when Rebellion got slammed when they cut a hole in the bodywork so they could hit the starter motor with a hammer.

Have SMP finally been able to improve the AER's reliability? Let's hope it finishes...
