Mindspin13B should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Is Aston Martin Racing considered to be "factory supported"

I know Prodrive built and developed the cars. But can they be considered a factory supported team?

Not so sure about that. If I recall correctly, AMR does not get support from Aston Martin. Someone will know for sure though.

Well for starters you might want to check out who owns the Aston Martin Racing website

AMR is Aston's factory team, Prodrive have a contract to represent Aston Martin in sportscar racing

Aston Martin Racing is the factory racing team. Aston Martin in partnership with Prodrive, irregardless of who has what % of the pie between them, are the entities that make up AMR. The sole function of AMR is to produce and race Aston Martin cars. Because Prodrive is a stand alone company with many other automotive and racing arms it can get quite convoluted at times trying to seperate out the individual concerns of certain projects that are not privy to the public domain.

Do they get funding from Aston Martin? Asking because I don't know.

They have a works team (the Gulf Prodrive cars) and a couple of semi-works teams like AMR BMS Scuderia (running DBR9s in FIA-GT) and AMR Drayson-Barwell (running a V8 Vantage GT2 in ALMS (and maybe LMS)).

There was another DBR9 team, Larbre which ran in the LMS.

If I had to GUESS, NO but that is where the BIG Sponsors, Gulf, come in. The Sponsor pays for the exposure / marketing / advertising on the Works cars. AMR builds and runs the team.

With ProDrive, AMR and AM so inter twangled as to which owns whom anymore

LeMans.pt should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
From Wikipedia:

"On 12 March 2007 a consortium led by Prodrive chairman David Richards purchased Aston Martin for £475m/USD$848m.[15] Prodrive has no financial involvement in the deal.[16] Ford will keep a stake in the company (valued at GBP 40 million / USD 70 million). The consortium also consisted of John Sinders, an Aston Martin collector; and two Kuwaiti investment companies, Investment Dar and Adeem Investment Co."

Does this helps?

Since Richards' new involvement with Aston Martin road cars, the actual relationship between the brand and Prodrive may have changed.

Initially Prodrive recieved technical help and shells etc. from Ford controlled Aston Martin, but they made their money from a customer program.

Maybe thats still the case, or the new, independent, Aston Martin now fund the factory team.

It was stated at the NEC, I believe, that Aston Martin see's motorsport as a great marketing tool to promote the brand, much like Porsche and Audi.

Gulf is BIG only in the sense that it's primary on the AM, not because it's an oil company (the way we usually think of oil companies, anyway). Look it up.

By the way, that applies to BOTH Gulf Oil entities, unrelated to each other, except for the "look."
