Paul Smart 1943-2021
 Former Grand Prix and Isle of Man TT racer Paul Smart has died at the age of 78 following a road traffic collision on Wednesday October 27. Paul was riding his motorcycle when the accident occurred, and the police and coroner are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. Whilst enjoying success in GP and at the TT, Paul is most known for winning the 1972 Imola 200 for Ducati. Paul was local to me in the UK and I used to follow him in my youth, I last saw him at a bike meet near me a couple of years back and knew that he was in poor health but was coping, however I didn't expect this to happen and we can only send our condolences to his family especially his wife (Barry Sheene's sister).
The accident was at a notorious black spot in our area

Sad news. I only really know him as Bazza's sister in law and Scott Smart's father, but he no doubt was a very good rider in his own right. RIP
