NK wasn't the greatest driver in the world. He won't be missed.

99.9% of the drivers out there arent the greatest. Narain was a very good talent, I just wonder if he had stayed at Carlin...

Narain is doing Nippon again in 2002 with the latest spec chassis, unlike the 2 year old he used in 2001. He is going for the C'ship, and probably a F1 full-time testing or at least a few tests in 2002. He is here to stay i feel, and with the Robertson duo managing his interests im sure u'll hear quite a bit from him next year, even if he is not performing.

On the commercial side, Narain is a perfect way for a brand or a sponsor to attract the 50 million Motorsport and F1 fans in India. Non-Jap Asian drivers are the future for sponsors in F1, especially with tobacco out by 2006 in Europe. So it may not be that bad for Narain after all.

on the commercial side.....i was thinking the very same thing when i first read this thread.....Narian is not the best driver around , but for sure he has talent and speed when things all click in to place for him..its just he doesnt always show it ! ...but the way this thread started made it sound like Narain's career was over ..So 2002 should be a much more competative year for him if he's got the lastest spec chaasis.

yes one wonders what could have happened had he only stayed at carlin instead of the jag junior team . if he does do nippon again i think it would be a big mistake
granted hes leart the tracks but he still has problems communicating with his engineers
more over youth is the current way teams are going and soon he wont be the only indian face around
and theres no news of any f1 full time testing role or any preseason tests comming up

Narain has a opted for a new English-speaking Engineer for 2002. So no more Interpreters for him
