Autosport web is reporting Gerhard Berger interview.
https://www.as-web.jp/supergt/646939?all

In this interview, Berger revealed that Japanese manufacturers had planned to participate in DTM and German manufacturers had planned to participate in SGT.
BMW and Audi were in favor of the plan, but the plan was not realized because two Japanese manufacturers opposed it.

Knowing all the nonsense that Herr had talked previously I wouldn't be surprised if it's not all the true. How would GT500 allow cars that had to be BoPped anyway, as Super Exclusive Premium German brands are better in marketing than in engineering nowadays. With no jet-ignition, frozen engine and aero development and spec tyres - how they could be entered in GT500? It would equal GT500 collapse as constructors' class.

I think that there were no japanese teams that would had liked to run in dtm. During last year dtmxsgt race at hockenheim buttom complained a lot about hankook tyres... he said that japanese engineers were upset because each japanese car setup is mainly based on BS/MH/DL/YH tyres features like opt. temp, wear rate etc.. while hankooks are just chunk of extra hard tyres with overall poor grip but basically no wear rate compared to their condifential compounds.

Autosport web is reporting Toshihiro Ichinose (#18 chief engineer) interview on NSX GT3 Evo set-up know-how.
https://www.as-web.jp/supergt/647160?all

*Ichinose (SERVUS Japan, #18 chief engineer) says that he doesn't know NSX GT3 original spec.
*He was ARTA #55 engineer, and now UpGarage #18 chief engineer.
*Ichinose has the impression that the NSX GT3 Evo is a cornering machine with straight line speed.
*He says that NSX GT3 Evo has more downforce than BMW M6 GT3, especially in rear.
However, everyone worried about lack of front downforce of NSX GT3 Evo.
*In 2019, Ichinose and ARTA #55 won the championship by NSX GT3 Evo.
That year, he set up with two things in mind: improving the ground contact of the four wheels to improve tire grip and making the aerodynamics as effective as possible.
It was a setup that sets the front vehicle height to the minimum ground clearance, adds a rake angle to the rear, and increases the front downforce as much as possible.
And it's a suspension setup that allows you to move the downforce balance closer to the front.
*Unlike open-wheel cars, GT3 vehicles that cannot increase the amount of DF with the front wing and flaps have to rely on the rake angle.
*The NSX GT3 Evo is sensitive to rake angles and the amount of downforce changed even at 1mm.
*Due to the rake angle, the amount of downforce not only on the front but also on the entire vehicle has increased.
*However, if there is a rake angle, the front will sink due to braking, and the brake balance will be lost.
*The NSX GT3 Evo regularly uses suspension packers and bump rubber because it wants to suppress changes in the front vehicle height aerodynamically, as in the theory of GT machines.
*Ichinose found a good suspension set-up at #55 engineer era. That's because he knew all about the character of BS tires.
*In 2020, Ichinose transfers to Team UpGarage, and tire brand switched to Yokohama.
*Ichinose says he didn't have an image of how to use Yokohama tires in the Okayama test.
*Starting with how to load the tires, it has now evolved into a more grip-oriented set-up.
*Until last year he was always aware of loading the four wheels, but this year he changed to a set-up that loads the outer side tires.
That's because the tires of the character increase the grip when Yokohama puts a high load on it.
In short, he came up with a completely different set-up than last year.
*Yokohama tires will be different from last year, and they are finding a direction to handle long runs while improving the qualifying time while using a soft compound.
*Yokohama has also improved the structure of its tires, and even with the same compound, it is becoming more grip.
*The NSX GT3 Evo is equipped with a new Bosch ABS, but the team hasn't mastered it well yet.
*The front does not move, the vehicle height is low and there is no static load. It is natural that full braking will be severe.
*Therefore, the set-up is to increase the bottom speed without using much brakes.
*Of course, there are complaints from the driver, but the aerodynamics are effective, so the driver has to put up with it.

In regards to Masahiko Kondo's situation, I'm hoping that it'll be resolved smoothly. It's hard to be a male idol and a team owner, especially when Kondo-san is part of Johnny and Associates, one of the largest talent agencies in Japan.

He needs to pick himself up if he is to get anywhere, heís dug his own hole it seems. Letís just hope that this gets resolved quickly, but hey, we have always tended to get these lively characters in motorsport every now and then. But at the same time, he has to get his life back on track if he is to continue doing his job as best he can and continue to be one to go to

Big news!
Raybrig (main sponsor of Team Kunimitsu) will withdraw from SGT by this season!
Raybrig brand will be discontinued.
However, it may be possible for Stanley to have a sponsor.

It's amazing that 6 cars in GT500 still hold their own destiny in the last race of the championship battle! When was the last that happened in professional motorsport (without any gimmicks or regulations like double points)?

The #36 is still right in it too, only needs a little help (a win without the #17 or #37 in second).

Last time there were more than 5 contenders was in 2010 despite a cancelled race (Rd.7 Fuji).

Race day press confernce by GTA (Masaaki Bandoh) <Part.1>
https://supergt.net/news/single/20626

*About next season schedule
Regarding next season, we are planning to hold all 8 races as usual.
Next year, we will also race at the Okayama International Circuit, Sportsland SUGO, and Autopolis, where we had to give up holding SGT.
At the previous Rd.7 Motegi race, the organizers of Fuji Speedway, Sportsland SUGO, and Autopolis visited us, and at this race, the organizers of the Okayama International Circuit visited us.
On the other hand, we have the prospect that it will be difficult to hold overseas races given the current situation.
There is also a balance with the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics that was postponed next year, and there is also a question of what the situation of the new coronavirus will be in the future.
However, at worst, I think the current level is the lowest.
Therefore, we ask the organizers of each circuit to hold the race at the current level.

*About future GT500 tech regulations
Until now, changes to GT500 class tech regulations have been made once every three years, but we are trying to change this once every four years.
In other words, the current Class one regulations introduced from this season will continue to operate until the 2023 season.
Next season, we will freeze development in areas such as engines and aerodynamics.
Then, looking at the situation in the first 4 races of the next season, we are discussing with each car manufacturer participating in the GT500 class in the direction of lifting the development freeze if there is a place where it is judged that it is better to lift it.
For areas where the development freeze has been lifted for the 2022 season, the development freeze will be made in the next 2023 season.
In addition, GTA will, in principle, control all tests conducted during the off-season.
We will also limit testing during the season so that car and tire manufacturers can be tested together as much as possible.
The technical regulations after 2024 will be environmentally friendly.
For example, the safety car at this race uses biofuel mixed with 10% recycled waste oil from tempura oil.
We want to decide the basis of the 2024 tech regulations by the end of next year.

Race day press conference by GTA (Masaaki Bandoh) <Part.2>
https://car.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/1291930.html

*About 2024 tech regulations
Challenges include racing tires with recycled tires and reduction of CO2.

*About GT300 sporting regulations
Q. Will the weight handicap of points x 3kg be applied also next season?
A. Since this is a regulation with the power-to-weight ratio of FIA-GT3 in mind, it is necessary to consider whether it can be applied to JAF-GT and MC.
I think that the obligation to change tires should be decided by the bulletin of each circuit, not by the sporting regulations.
Because it is a matter that should be decided by the characteristics of the course.

*ITR Chairman Berger reveals a phantom plan for SGT cars to join DTM and DTM cars to join SGT
During the SGT/DTM dream race, when asked if the SGT manufacturer could participate in DTM, they answered that it was impossible.

*Will new entrants appear in 2024?
Welcome to any manufacturer.

Well, Toyota and last moment drama go hand in hand. It looked like Hirakawa was on course for a race and championship win and his Supra just runs out of fuel coming out of final corner. All of this hands over both the championship and race win to the Raybrig NSX of Yamamoto and Makino. Raybrig bows out on a high note, a fitting end to a sponsor that is so closely associated with Super GT.

Kondo racing's GT300 division makes up for the horrible year they had in GT500 by winning the championship. It seemed like nobody could touch the Greenbrave Supra on pace, but their points deficit was just too much to overcome.
