How much they acted like a team is debatable, the HDT helped Grice out with a seat or something.
I'll update my info as well.

It wasn't the organisers who alerted the MHDT and Grice about the Kings Cup, it was Australian journalist Phil Christensen and Channel 7 Australia commentator Mike Raymond (following the Aussie exploits at Spa) who, to quote a line from "Ironbark Legends : Peter Brock" "ensured the two Mobil Commodore's plus the Grice car were nominated as the 'Australian Commodore Team'.

Never two late to find the facts

Yeah, I've always like the look of the Mondeo more than the Vectra, especially the 97-99 Mondeos. I didn't like the ST cars in '00 b/c they started to allow overly wide wheel arches?

Getting slighly offtopic now... but Group A history interests me and relates to seperate a discussion I've been having about Group A homologation. Was this "interim homologation" you talk of, a full international homologation from the FIA or granted locally by CAMS for the 1985 Australian Touring Car Championship and the endurance races such as Bathurst?

When I said interim homologation, I meant an interim measure by Holden, as the parts were not ready/available to homolgate the 1986 version any earlier, but the smaller engine and 5 speed were needed to give the cars a chance of being competitive in the end of year endurnace races. I don't know if it was full FIA homologation or dispensation from CAMS. I'm inclined to believe it was the former.
