I wouldn't be getting too worried about it either - NSW has been very good at managing such small outbreaks up to now. Could go either way of course so best not to be committing dollars at this stage.

Tickets seem to be only for down the bottom of the mountain. No mention of up the top.

Up the top is reserved for campers. No shuttle buses.Guessing the whole camping,GA and full capacity Grandstands plan is unlikely 7 weeks out with the current level of Covid in the community.
NSW is also the state most likely to have its borders blocked by other states which is a switch from last year.Covid is going nowhere for some while.

Interesting the event is being promoted as the “Mt Panorama 500” rather than the “Bathurst 500”

Probably trying to ensure there is no confusion in the history books with the Bathurst 500 mile events of old

Confusing the history books is never something that has bothered Supercars, look at what they do with the 1000, they’ve happily confused the history books there for twenty odd years...
I’m told today that ARG already claimed the “Bathurst 500” title for their TCR enduro, I guess that’s the reason??

Not is a position of strength, clout and validation anymore.

..... and TCR has that position because it registered an event name first. Nothing to do with clout strength or validation.
More likely that pre Covid Supercars never anticipated the need or the wish for a secondary / sprint event at Bathurst.
TCR organised an event which of course due to Covid never happened but they have the name, having wanted to run a 500 k event. Hardly an issue, and certainly not about who has strength and clout..
Unless you want to make it an issue.
