Adr 1000
I'm slightly surprised (or maybe wrong!) that no one has mentioned this car on here already...
see : http://www.adr-engineering.co.uk/ It looks like a fantastic opportunity to do seem really quick, close and exciting racing, for not much cash.. It's featured in Ingear Motorsport magazine (back page of issue #2) and looks and sounds like a really good opportunity. Hope it goes on to do really well. If it lasts I'd be interested in having a go in one. What do others think of it, plus it's chances of surviving? I think it's got quite a good chance and looks way better than the Westie offering.. EPS :-) |

It does look very nice.
I would imagine the pricing is low enough to make a lot of people consider it as their first entry into racing. Hmmmmm... want one! |

I think it was designed for the 750mc new sports 1000 series, as just one of the types of chassis available for the series. I think it was at the Autosport show and looked a nice tidy chassis. I think the series has its first race at Silverstone at the end of the month, and in the long term is planned as a replacement seies to the Relient engined 750 formula. I think more info is on the 750mc web site.

I should have raised the subject a while back... it does look excellent.
Chassis can be bought for a grand.. then work your way up from there. Engines at 500 notes, and you can't tamper with the internals. So it should be excellent value for money (much better than expensive reliants in F750). Plus the cars could be used in other events (hillclimbs / sprints, some GT races). Other option to find a redundant F750 or clubman and use that chassis. But as Tony Harman pointed out - would the BMW engine fit.. First race at Sivlerstone on a couple of weeks.. could be interesting to look at. Go direct to the 750 MC if you want an information pack. All very tempting.. as were MGOC Class A last weekend..... now where's that credit card? |

Dan, maybe take some paper and crayons ;-)
A report would be interesting - maybe if you could talk to the driver & team about their thoughts on the car.. Speed, setup, handling, ease of use.. EPS :-) |
