Golden Eras . 70s & 80s Rally cars at Goodwood

Had great fun down at Goodwood this year < Saturday > : Instead of 3 day of Press Coverage slog : this year was with the Perez Kick Team with the Sport Quattro and the Lancia Stratos: Also had a ride around in Roger Clark's old Escort with Andrew Siddal ~: Fantastic Stuff

Some really nice photos there

Did you get a run through the stage in the Escort? The festival of speed is one of those events that I really must get around to going to, there's just so much to see there isn't there? Is the rally stuff integrated into the event as a whole or is it isolated? The stage looks to be some way from the rest of the event so I was wondering whether the rally side of things looks llike an afterthought or whether it's an integral part of the overall experience.

Yep .... I did

Yes I was very pleased that I had the chance to sit in as co-driver for a run. see link
and it was in Albert's Cossack Escort Rs1800. Andrew Siddall who owns its gave it the beans but it was realy slippy and the stage is very tight. Bucket list thing to have happened, since the last time I saw the car was on the Lombard RAC in 1975 when i was just a wee young thing < 17 >

The Rally Stage & Rally Paddock is at the top of the hill and you could easily not know what's going on down the hill .........

I've been so many time with my media hat on it all blurs into a big event to cover : even over three days you can stumble into different places : last year I covered the Trials stuff , which I used to do > which is a recent addition see GAS link
