Yeah but I am willing to bet that their sponsorship contracts would be based on turning up to the 15 events that are set out in the REC which make up the v8 season (not championship)...

In terms of corporates, glitz and glamour, crowd numbers etc.. the AGP has Bathurst covered. Overall though Bathurst & the AGP are probably as big as eachother.

Still don't see why just because its not a championship round makes it meaningless. Its still a motor race to be won afterall, doesn't make a difference to me as a spectator whether it pays points or not.

If Bathurst was still non-championship (as it should be, given its a two-driver race in a single driver series), would you be pushing a Bathurst boycott because it didn't count for these precious points??

Bathurst, no. Any other event, yes!
Bathurst will always be the great race. And i wouldn't care either way if it was for points. But theres nothing special about the GP that it shouldn't be a points paying race like all the rest.
