Does anyone know what frequencies are used at Brands? A friend wants to get a 2 way radio for when he is on post.

I love the Dual Watch function (with thanks to Wens for showing me) means I can listen to both ES1 and ES2 when at silverstone.

Chezza, care to explain how? That would be very useful.

Thanks,

Well I have all of the frequencies I use programmed in, ES1 is 4 and ES2 is 5. So I pick the main channel I want to listen to which is 4 , and then press func and DW and then pick 5 you want to listen to and then it will watch both frequencies if there is nothing on 4, but transmission on 5 it will pick that up, if something then happens on 4 it will switch from 5 back to 4.

or on some scanners,
if you have saved frequencies,(favourites)
then put it on scan,it will toggle thru them.
as soon as there is sound it will log on that channel, then carry on scanning when it goes quiet.

had mine going on BTCC at doni and kept on picking up the local taxi firm.

Scanners

Hi guys, I know we are not sposed to bring them on post, but, as I am off work ill still, i have plenty of free time to go to race meetings. I used to have a scanner, ( a UNIDEN BEARCAT UBC3500XLT CLOSE CALL SCANNER ), which we used at airshows, with the cbs, etc etc.

Do other people use the,, what do other people suggest to buy as I need anew one. Should I get another Uniden or have people got better suggestions??

Thanks,
Scott

New Maycom AR-108 being discounted

Hopefully I can post this, if not Mods I apologise & I understand if you take it down.
Don't know if this will interest anyone, but Maplin have the above scanner going for £39.99. That's £30 off the usual price & because it's over £35 you get free postage.
If anyone wants a link then PM me as I don't think I'm allowed to post links.

Happy New Year all

Don't show them this thread mate or they'll be hunting for the reciept & you'll be getting another one in a week or so.

Matt it's a really good scanner & you'll enjoy having it with you when you're at a meeting.

Maycom AR-108

Dear all,
as a new member ,I wondered what everyones views are on using scanners at circuits?I ask because I have just purchased one with a view to using it at Snetterton.I asked a guy who was with the ambulance team about frequencies were used and although he was very pleasant, he told me he could not provide same due to "patient confidentiality",which I respect, but I am not one of those spectators who "chase"accidents.
Fortunately, I came across a lady spectator who uses a scanner, and happily provided the frequencies of race control AND race timing,it then transpired that her husband worked in race control!!!
Do other forum users have any problems using their scanners(with officialdom) and what are their views ,please.
Regards to all,
Carrotcruncher.

I use my scanner when on the bank and also spectating (although I mainly spectate at meetings where the championship I run are playing so I have a vested interest in what is going on). I don't see there really is any gain as a spectator using them as I often find it more of an irritation than helpful when I'm watching, but there we go. Aslo you can often only pick up part of the message with other noise going on and this can mean they are misunderstood.
