Typical movement of brake pads
Hi Guys,
New member to this great forum. Could anyone tell me would you know of the typical movement of a brake pad from when its at zero position (no brakes applied) to full position (brakes applied). I wish to work out the volume of fluid required to move a certain diameter brake piston so that i can size a master cylinder for a pedal box. I am totally aware that im leaving the pressure side of the equations out. I have brake torque values calculated, i just wish to know what volume of fluid will be required to achieve this so that the pedal distance will be sufficient with a pedal ratio of 5.4:1. I want to achieve full braking with a pedal movement of approx 50-60mm I had a 0.625 front master cylinder with R33 skyline calipers (4 pots of 40.4mm) and the pedal travel was too much! Thanks in advance for replies dtm0211 |
