Perhaps it's time F1 set up reserve days for wet weather? Have contingency plans in place to run the race tomorrow or Tuesday? Like other series that don't run in the wet do, NASCAR and IndyCar for example.

Gotta say that I don't see much difference between fixing possible race ending damage under Red Flag conditions (Hamilton Silverstone) and fixing possible race ending damage caused on the outlap when the conditions are deemed too dangerous to race under...

They are the rules I guess

Seems a pragmatic decision seeing as no racing has actually happened (even if some off these laps have reduced the race distance).

F1 does something that is good for the fans and made sure another car starts the race.

If the race starts.

I thought it was four hours too. Did that change recently? It is rarely, if it ever has been, used so I could have changed and not been noticed.

It has been changed recently. If you read 5.3 b) it says, a maximum total race time of three (3) four hours, with a line through the four.

5.3 c) states: If the formation lap is started behind the safety car (see Article 36.14 c)) the number of race laps will be reduced by the number of laps carried out by the safety car minus one.

The medical car was fine going round. How about giving all the teams ten minutes to build one of those for each of the drivers and then we can get going.

Or they could build some paper boats, write the drivers’ names on the top, go up to Les Combes, line them up in grid order and send them down the hill. First boat to La Source wins.
