There are some MotoGP testing photos here:
http://www.crash.net/uk/en/search_re...ype=pics&cid=6 I think it will be interesting to see who will be the top Brit in MotoGP this year. Shane Byrne has really impressed me on the Aprilia and often beat Hodgson in testing! It will be a good battle as well as the championship! |

Of the Brits, Neil has the best bike, and has much more experience at international level than Shaky. If he can't beat Shaky then it either marks him out as a major star, or makes Neil look like a journeyman who got lucky on his zillionth chance. Personally I think the latter is closer. If the bike suits aggressive robust riding, he'll lose out to Xaus as well.

I think that Hodgson will beat Xaus most of the season, I have the feeling that Xaus will override his bike and end up crashing an awful lot.

But Xaus will be ahead of Neil when he crashes though!

Hodgson will struggle greatly I feel. Against the top, top riders in the world on savage machinery, I don't really rate his chances.

Xaus certainly got the upper hand to Hodgson towards the end of last year, but then I suppose the championship was pretty much done by then
I hope that Hodgson does well being a brit but I think Shakey has the potential on the right bike to be a future star in moto gp Howard |

Xaus will beat Hodgson. IMO he's over-rated and only won the WSB last year because he was racing against of field of basically nobodies with a machine clearly superior to everyone else.
Hodgson is a journeyman rider. He's got talent but isn't a champion (despite winning one) |

His comments last year about Foggy and all that will come back to haunt him. At least, I hope they do.
I really took offense to his remarks, he had no right to say things like he did. |

Agreed Knowlesy....both Hodgson & Fogarty very overated compared to the GP riders...if they didn't have the top range Dukes underneath them they wouldn't have been sighted...IMO...

Hodgson knows Its going to be very difficult and as for Xaus? I think he has more talent and If he could just learn to keep It on the black stuff he will go far..........yeah Xaus will finish higher than Hodgson

I am not a Neil fan but please he is on a year old bike in a new private team so if he can get anywhere near the Ducati factory bikes he is doing a good job and I suspect he is not that worried about Xaus who is on the look out for sponsorship on the bottom of his race boots. Don'y you you just love the Aussies!
Have any of you ever, EVER said anything complimentary about any British rider? It is so amusing listening to the endless Fogarty is rubbish, Hodgson is rubbish. Can't you just be happy with Doohan, Mladin, Bayliss, West, Stoner (lol) Vermuelen, Muggeridge etc etc etc. Give it a rest will yer |

I know, just amuses me that's all.
A bit of envy in there too I imagine, if our racers could have the steely determination that the top Aussies have then I am sure we would have had more world champions than we have had. Amusingly, the one guy we do have like that is McWilliams, but he tries a little too hard I think |

I don't expect much from Hodgson - Xaus should be able to beat him if he can rein in his more reckless tendencies. His WSBK title meant little - the way he was beaten by Edwards and Bayliss in 2002, and frequently challenged by Xaus in late 2003, means far more.
