I wouldn't be getting too worried about it either - NSW has been very good at managing such small outbreaks up to now. Could go either way of course so best not to be committing dollars at this stage.

Tickets seem to be only for down the bottom of the mountain. No mention of up the top.

Up the top is reserved for campers. No shuttle buses.Guessing the whole camping,GA and full capacity Grandstands plan is unlikely 7 weeks out with the current level of Covid in the community.
NSW is also the state most likely to have its borders blocked by other states which is a switch from last year.Covid is going nowhere for some while.

Interesting the event is being promoted as the “Mt Panorama 500” rather than the “Bathurst 500”

Probably trying to ensure there is no confusion in the history books with the Bathurst 500 mile events of old

Confusing the history books is never something that has bothered Supercars, look at what they do with the 1000, they’ve happily confused the history books there for twenty odd years...

I’m told today that ARG already claimed the “Bathurst 500” title for their TCR enduro, I guess that’s the reason??

..... and TCR has that position because it registered an event name first. Nothing to do with clout strength or validation.

More likely that pre Covid Supercars never anticipated the need or the wish for a secondary / sprint event at Bathurst.

TCR organised an event which of course due to Covid never happened but they have the name, having wanted to run a 500 k event. Hardly an issue, and certainly not about who has strength and clout..

Unless you want to make it an issue.

No.

It's interesting to note that what occurred 20 years ago is not happening now.

I would assume it means the Pit straight stands / seats, and the stands / seats after Hell Corner, like last years B1000.

Maybe GA is the seats and areas beside the grandstands?

They have sold tickets under the delusion of a Covid free world. The Grandstands are as built and sold for the 1000 in the years before 2020.General Admission means anywhere around the public areas at the bottom of the mountain.Camping is top of mountain but to a lower capacity. No shuttle buses to top of mountain so that area restricted to campers.
Might have to rethought.

Well judging by the crowd attendance of 30,000 at the SCG for the Big Bash final at the weekend, allowing a limited number of spectators at Bathurst shouldn't be a problem.

Every one of those 30,000 had prescribed seating, and all of them were zoned off to limit exposure potential.

Neither of which really work at Bathurst as we know it.
