"well not much point in revving beyond where the torque starts to drop off!"
Were only reving our engine to where it still makes power between about 4k an 8k

Grant Wilson on the Gold Coast is trying to start up something of a Trans-Am series for similar cars to yourself to run at meetings like the Muscle Car Masters... might be worthwhile tracking him down.

They've had a couple of rounds now, and it's been quite exciting! The racing is mixed up, the cars just sound horn, and all told the next round at the Shannons Sports and Muscle Car showdown at QR will probably have around 25 cars.

If they can sort out some early solid regs and things don't get out of hand, this could be a really good class.

I think the Qld Raceway website will have a link, they have been very supportive of the series.

This year there will be two rounds each at Lakeside and QR and one at the Muscle Car Masters at Eastern Creek on father's day weekend.

The only historic category ive talked to is the new american muscle car series
starting in march. i have also been looking at the Improved production road and that looks hopeful

7500rpm is still plenty but our engine is safe 8000 and has seen nearly 9000 by accident but they sound beautiful at revs

Gavin Bullas'es 69 mustang used to see 9000rpm every lap back when it was in groub NC
We race Shelbys in European historic events , in between our regulations we can not build a 8000rpm engine , the latest i build is a poper 289ci based on a period engine block and heads and gives 235bhp on the dyno with max of 7300rpm , stock style rockers and flat tappers , breakerpoint dissy , www.va-motorsport.com
