Schumacher not allowed to wear 7 star cap.....

Read this over on F1-live. I guess Bernie would like to believe that someone else can beat MS to the title this year. Maybe he has some sort of bonus point scheme up his sleeve!

Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone doesn't want Michael Schumacher to wear his new seven-star cap in the Formula One paddock just yet.

According to Sport Bild, Ecclestone believes that it is premature to declare that Schumacher is the 2004 World Champion. "For me, Michael Schumacher is not World Champion yet," said Ecclestone. "He will be World Champion at the end of the season when the FIA will confirm it."

Nothing is ever certain in Formula One. Back in 1997, Michael Schumacher's controversial clash with Jacques Villeneuve in the season finale at Jerez resulted in the German being stripped of his World Championship points. Such a situation is very unlikely in 2004, but as Murray Walker used to say, 'FI' is 'IF' spelt backwards.

Schumacher is assured to win his seventh title since his second place finish at Spa at the end of August. The German Ferrari driver mentioned that he wanted to have a big party on Sunday after the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

Well i'd rather newly crowned drivers didn't wear these caps at all full stop.

Did Fangio walk round with a cap that said five times champion? I don't think so.

I hate commercialism! Damn you Willi Weber!

Maybe he can wear a cap with as many stars as race wins this season instead?

Or maybe a cap to commemorate how many vertically challenged gentlemen there were in the story of Snow White?

Makes no difference really. He's won.

If they're threatening that maybe he hasn't won cos he could do something that might lose him all his points again, maybe he better not race for the rest of the year! (Here's hoping).

So Bernie should be allowed to say what the drivers can/can not wear? What if he wants them in spike heals and garters?

(just creating discussion, I do NOT want to see them in that uniform.....)

I think Bernie's particular miffed with the Minardi, Sauber, Toyota, Jaguar & Williams team outfits too. Apparently they're not wearing some sort of sponsorship type that Bernie likes to promote.

Getting off point anyway - reading the article, just says Bernie doesn't want Michael to - just newspaper talk.

ou may find most things Bernie just wants to rabbit on to reporters about don't happen - things that Bernie wants to happen - just happen.

There's no purpose for Michael to do something "controversial" for the rest of the season as he already has the title in the bag...

Senility is really catching up on Ye Olde' Bernie...

this is stupid...does bernie honestly think most of us would even notice the seventh star? I mean seriously does he actually think that him not wearing a miniscule little star on his hat will lead us to believe that there is still some sort of uber-exciting race for the title (to be clear i think F1 is already exciting) The real problem with F1 is that the FIA and Bernie have decided that F1 is boring and need somethign to futz with

Sounds a bit dodgy to me,maybe Ferrari have been cheating and are likely to be stripped of the championships at the end of the year, something maybe the FIA know about but are waiting for Ferrari to own up to,you just never know in this game!

I think Bernie tends to have a dry sense of humour and often his little jokes get picked up on and blown out of proportion.

And he doesn't have a desire for control, he has control.

No, Bernie doesn't think that Michael is likely to do something to lose it. It is not difficult. He is just saying that it is about the whole season and there is still some racing to go. Maybe he is saying that it is slightly unclassy to start prancing around with '7' caps, or something.

It isn't even that. It is just a random comment.

There is NOTHING in this. And it is plain to see.

Hot off the press... Ferrari Cheated!!!

-----------------------------------------------------------
NonAssociated Press (10th Sept 2004)

From a reliable source from underneath the paddocks of F1 garages, it has been confirmed that Ferrari, which has taken the F1 world again by storm this year, winning almost every GP it has participated in the year, has cheated their competition by employing some form of launch and traction control. Said control is purportedly capable of idealy calculating the best approach to attack a chicane, when to accelerate and decelerate along the racing tracks so as to produce the best overall results. The same control is said to have with it a huge database of track information, not to mention simulated-artificial intelligence. The control is also capable of reacting to input from the racing pit and is capable of pushing the F2004 to its limits when called for.

One F1 driver,Juan Pablo Montoya, has even came forward to claim that with a control like this, even he would have easily won the WDC and that Ferrari and their drivers should not really be complimented on their accomplishments.

Sources has revealed, under request for anonymity, that the name of this balance-tipping launch and traction control is "Michael Schumacher".

I've just removed the tear from my eye reading it, it is hilarious.. If wearing a cap is going to make the diffirence or not? What is Bernie going to do? Disqualify Schumacher and Ferrari for not keeping to the dresscode?

Are they going to change the podiumceremony aswell? No ceremony until scruteneers have checked the top 3 cars for irregularities?

Ecclestone is planning a new fashionTV or do we continue with F1?
