lml698 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
"Historic GP de Pau" race opportunity

I am co-ordinating one of the races at this years Historic GP de Pau. The event is on the 24th / 25th May. I am still looking for entries from 1950 - 1964 historic sports cars to period spec. We need cars on proper wheels and tyres so roughly to FIA spec. Ideal for Astons, AC's Jags, MGA's , Healey 100's, Giuliettas, etc. etc. We also have a class for Pre War sports cars ( Astons, Lagondas, Bentleys etc. More info at www.racingfelthams.org or email me at
<mark@geode.uk.com>.
The race is I hour and for either 1 or 2 drivers. National A licence. We have lots of treats lined up for those who enter so why not come and join us.

I could bore you with a list of cars but I guess if it ran at Le Mans in that period then it would qualify. Not sure what marque of MkI and MkII you refer to but I assume it is an "in " joke !!!

Looks like we will have some Healeys, AC's and possibly Sunbeams to join us.

Looks like the Delta team will not be at Pau this year.Big dissapointment as i love the circuit and the weekends racing. Me and Jim will be going to Brands instead so i will look foward to that instead. Good luck to anyone who is racing at Pau this year and i hope the weather is better than last years.

I shall be spectating at Pau though sadly it doesn't look like there'll be many Brit entrants to look out for.

Its a classic case of too much historic racing - why spend all the money going to Pau when you can race the same weekend with HSCC at Brands on the GP circuit. Now the Anglophile Mayor of Pau is sadly no longer with us the dinner would be a more dull affair!

The programme this year with LMC and Monaco is unbalanced and two weeks gap to Monaco effects Pau

I'm going. Last year at Brands was the wettest meeting I think I've ever raced at so I decided Sth of France was a better bet! Taking the full arsenal!

Just a small correction Simon - it's actually an MSVR organised meeting at Brands Hatch with 100% Masters and HGPCA content. I know you'll forgive me for being pedantic!

John you are absolutely right I was confusing the HSCC meeting - doesn't that clash with something? But my point about overcrowding is still valid well the masters will be a great meeting and Pau is definately one to go with lots of insurance! Roger be aware it always rains in pau!!

Impossible to be as wet as Brands last year! Remember we were in the very far bottom corner of the paddock and there was around a foot of water!

Attention anyone travelling to Pau. The French fishermen have gone on strike and blockaded the Atlantic coast ports. As a result most ferry sailings have been cancelled and there are massive queues to get to the ports in the UK. I have no idea when this will clear but it doesn't look good unless your car is already in France.

I suspect their Farmers will be next, given the rumours that the CAP may soon be scrapped. Sooner we pull out the better I say...

We are getting a bit off topic, guys. Simon, I really think that having a 'pop' at the HRSR at every opportunity tends to lose its impact. As far as I can tell, they are completely open about what they allow or won't allow; presumably you either join them or you don't.

Back to Pau!
