Sure Zengo will be on the grid! Azcona should be 100% with them but we have to wait official confirmation.

Really surprised to see Target there... unless a couple more independents turn up, the Bäckmans will pretty much race to see who of them comes last.

Andreas will be ok I think, yet to be convinced by Jessica. Would love to see Josh Files with them but not sure what his budget's like.

It's funny how almost every year things look bleak for WTCR, and then they pull a 22 car grid out of their pocket. Curious, just shows how it's never worth scaremongering early on in the off-season...

Both have shown potential, but it's not consistent.

Nicola Baldan will race in two round as a wild card for team Target

At this point I'm sure WTCR will reach easily the 25 car step for this season. There were rumors on other privateers joining the Series

New Bop is out! Audi has been hitted hard...

+40kg of ballast for the new RS3 (tot 1305kg) while the new Elantra has 0 ballast (tot 1265kg) and 100% of power like the Audi.

Link&Co +60 (tot 1325kg), Honda +30kg (tot 1295kg) and the Cupra +20kg (tot 1285kg).

I'm already perplexed about the Bop of Hyundai.......

WTCR with TCR cars until 2025

Very important news today as the WTCR has extended the agreement with WSC (Lotti) to using TCR cars until the end of the 2025 season

“By securing a contract extension, even during this unprecedented period we are all living through, we’ve cemented this commitment and provided much needed stability to all our stakeholders. We believe in high level combustion customer racing and will do everything possible to make WTCR an even more environmentally sustainable competition over the next five years"

Makes sense although I am surprised by the long term agreement because this means WTCR will not switch to full electric in near future.

I did post this to the TCR Europe thread too, but has its place here also.

One of the most interesting news from the last weeks.

Will Zengo have 5 Cupras, one running in TCR Europe for Dani? Or is this one of the four cars entered for WTCR, doing the TCR Eu. season opener as a test too? Or he will be their 4th WTCR driver too? My Hungarian sources were really silent about this, and really surprised us as the split between Zengo and Nagy wasn't in the best mood.

I dont' think it will be Nagy the 4th team driver. Don't really know what to expect. In the team they were talking about contacts with 6 drivers, now 3 signed. I have the idea that one of these name could be Ekstrom but it seems really difficult.

I think Nagy will run the TCR Europe as a test and then maybe have some wild card in WTCR.

I also heard the Ekström rumours due to the eTCR connection, but sincerely thought that he would be too big of a star driver for Zoli's team. It would be amazing none the less.

What if it is Huffy? He was tagged by Mikel Azcona this week in an Instagram post from the tests (though the tag was quickly deleted)
Would by great to see him back

Great guess
Actually no one see that coming- and Zengo kept his promises from December, when he fist teased signing a real star driver.
