ALMS Model News

I'm not sure if this is appropriate or not however I'd like to have a place for all the news regarding releases of 1/43 models from the ALMS. Typically these releases aren't as well known as the annual Le Mans releases making it more difficult to find retail info.

Muscle Milk added 2 cars for sale this week on their website:

2012 Lime Rock Patriotic LE of 100 pcs
http://shop.pickettracingteam.com/20...Livery-023.htm

2012 ALMS Championship car
http://shop.pickettracingteam.com/20...iecast-022.htm

Conquest have their 2012 P2 car for sale as well

Would love to see the Dyson Lola B12/60 from last year, seeing as Spark have already released the 2012 Rebellion B12/160.

Can't think of any other special team releases, from this year and last year. Hopefully more will pop up.

Lucky you, I hope I get mine in the mail soon.

Also do you display your sparks out of the case and base plate, or is that just for pictures?if you do, would you mind sharing how you display.

Good question. I take the cellophane wrapping off, and the tape between the base and display case for all Sparks I've received. I also find that it helps to take the tape off the display case as some cars have arrived with some dust and could use a light cleaning.

For photographs, I carefully unscrew the car from the display case. I've seen just about everybody on scale143.com photograph their Spark 1/43 models unscrewed from the base. I don't think it devalues the model too much (I hope).

For displaying the models, all my 1/43 Sparks are screwed in to the base in the original cardboard sleeve.

Extreme Speed Motorsports have just received models of their LMP2 Honda ARX-03b from True Scale Miniatures. Stupidly, in my opinion, they've done the same thing as they did with the F458 models and put both numbers on the one car.
If you buy it from ESM you get #01 on one side and #02 on the other side along with the appropriate driver names.
If you buy it from a model retailer you apparently get the correct number on both sides.
Very strange.

Crap picture on ESM's FB page. Not available in their web store yet.
