Tremendous performance by O'Connor, quite amazing the way he climbed alone for 17K, and distanced some pretty big names. A well deserved stage win, and Cobrelli? No surprise to see him finish third, he often does that - in a sprint! On the longest climb in the whole Tour, fantastic. I will get some pictures from todays stage later. 145 kn. in 4.26.43secs. finishing up a 21 km long climb in constant heavy rain and low temperatures. Perhaps a model for Mike's Anniversary ride, Alan? . |

Now there's a thought! The proposed date for BBR '21 is 2 days after Iain and I are planning to do a lap of the Isle of Wight (100km with 1500m climbing) so maybe more of a recovery ride would be in order)

Interesting pics, thanks, between pleasure and torture. I know this place, no animal or vegetation can survive there… Van Aert has been superhuman. Hope he kept his strength up for the coming day(s). Those riders are made in an unknown metal, from the first to the last one. Respect.
