I have no definite opinions on the wrongs or rights of this penalty but that it had to happen is a terrible look for the category.

They had to be excluded from Bathurst. What a disgrace this was and now it is worse. Corruption.
SMc is trying to portray an image of a deserved Bathurst and championship title win. Who is he kidding. This is going to stain him for life. He should take the high road while he can.

Have I missed anything?

And not appealing any of their fines shows me they don’t care about the money at all. Those fines would sink a BJR type team... which is why they probably don’t break the rules like Penske.
The funniest thing I find is that despite all the above & getting to keep the Bathurst win + being able to enter a 2 door, massively altered car into the category...I am still seeing absolute nut bags on here & social media saying there is Holden bias !?!???

Now traditionally I’m a Holden fan so perhaps I’m overreacting but if anyone is getting the “rub of the green” lately it’s Penske.

For the record I’m not whinging that they are, I’m whinging that the Ford fans are STILL whinging!
And yes I see the irony in that 🤪

Nope. Standard procedure.

Yes. Every car on the podium, plus 3 other random cars.

They prioritised testing and measuring the 6 'race' engines first as those had to be returned to the teams in advance of Gold Coast. They then tested 17's qualifying special after the Gold Coast. When it failed scrutineering they had a hearing at the next meeting (Sandown) as is standard practice. It's the same as last year when Penske ran 17 out of spec in qualy at The Bend, realised their mistake but hid it until after the race had been run (after it was too late to take the appropriate action)...that was also heard at the next event, which back then was also Sandown. Only difference here was it took almost 2 rounds to discover 17 qualified in illegal trim.

Hope this helps.

Calls us idiots, asks which parts of the media release we missed, then puts in upper-case it was ONE cylinder...yet the release he read so thoroughly says it was FIVE cylinders.

Idiot!

Performance gain or not...the car was not legal and he was rightly disqualified from that session. If Penske would just field cars within the rules we wouldn't have to worry about if their latest 'specialty' gave a performance advantage or not - we'd all just be happy if the followed the same rules as everyone else.

If it's outside the specs, it's outside the specs. Whether there's a performance gain or not, is kinda irrelevant.

Even your beloved Triple Eight has fallen foul of this.

There were similar levels of hoo-ha on this forum, when DJR were able to overcome the odds and clench the 2010 Supercars title.

Thankfully the series is not "Conmodore Cup" every single year.

The commodore is yesterdays car, why the holden idiots continue to support them is a mystery?

The support for Holden is indeed vigorous; but in verbiage only, not on the showroom floor.

Speaks volumes that you guys don't understand why we stick with our team in good times and in bad.

I'll keep cheering Holden whether they are winning in motorsport or not...but congrats to you guys for winning a car auction somewhere, well done.

Guessing you guys stopped following the sport when they were selling 3 Falcons a month?

Does it come with a spare engine? To replace the illegal one from the factory?

KRE builds the Triple Eight motors.

Mostech builds the DJRTP ones.

What is comes with is a V8 engine and rear wheel drive.

The same cannot be said of the current "Commodore".
