Your top 5 V8 Supercar driver for 2012

Thought I'd copy and steal this idea from F1 threads. 2011 was a great year for roland danes team for taking out the championship again, and also the last time we'll have watched the ford vs holden battles.( Which now ford can claim to have won the last race, stickitupya!). the championship was still alive until the very last round, even to a point where whincup was ahead by a single point.so who was your top 5?

1.Mika Salo
2. JDUB
3. Frosty
4. Will Davison
5. James Moffat

Ok, as I'm not a fan of Ford or Holden taxi's...I hope this doesnt show too much bias. If on results alone it would be easy, the points table does that! But personal performance is different and is affected by a multitude of factors. So here goes
1. Mark Winterbottom
2. Fabian Coulthard
3. Jamie Whincup
4. Shane Van Gisbergen
5=. Johnathan Webb & Micheal Caruso

1) Cheese-burger
2) Craig Lowndes
3) Fabian Coulthard (man he had a great year didn't he)
4) Will Davison
5) it bugs me to say it, but Whingecup has to be in there somewhere

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I'm just naming 2
but was really impressed by tim slade this year. 5th in the championship shows he is really coming along.

Really happy with Dave Reynolds also, I think that car was the biggest gainer for the year, outside the top 20 to 9th in the championship, and the driver was also up ten spots. The bathurst drive was a great drive from a guy with not many years in the championship, took it to the big names. turned out to be a handy qualifier, but with a bit more experience required in race conditions.

Looking forward to seeing what both these guys do in 2013

I have to agree Pecky, a number of years ago these guys were just moving chicanes but now they are getting to be the cream of the crop !

Its a pity others havent taken their oppourtunities.

J Dub- class of the field.
Lowndes- aways ends up at the pointy end, even after a few setbacks.
Reynolds- shows promising speed, the one to watch in 2013.
Slade- is becoming the complete driver.
Will Davo- fast but fragile.

In my opinion, my top 5 would be reflective of their finishing positions in the championship.

Others that stood out include David Reynolds and Fabian Coulthard.

I only have a Top 1.

For his awesome drive in the development series this year, even still managing to complete school at the same time (he raced in the school holidays ).
