Peter Harding should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Changes at Snetterton

The main Russell flag post at Snetterton has been demolished together with the surrounding tyres etc so the area is completely open. The flag post on the inside of Coram (by the ambulance) has also gone in favour of a new flag/Observer post on the inside between the two removed ones.
Will wait and see how this will be but obvious issues will be.
Will cars go faster and, maybe more likely to straight line the corner now it's open?
Will Obersver be close enough to see all (now very close to Coram Obs)?
If someone is stranded at Russell, will it be safe for marshals to go out or will we see more red flags?
Is the new post less of a target than the old Russell one?

I think I will be at the first car meeting to find the answers.

Peter,

Having done these posts many times (like yourself), I feel its a bad move. The number of cars that spin off between Corum and Russell on the inside is quite a few (especially after minor collisions) and they are usually travelling fast. At least by the time they reach Russell the cars were slowing and many to avoid incidents just go straight on anyway!

I liked the post at Russell it was the best place to be and I didn't think it was too bad - surely if need be they could have just moved it back 10 yards or so.....

After wrecking the posts at Sear and Riches (from a Marshals point of view) it looks like Snetterton will become too tame!

See you sometime this year! Doug

Thanks for the input on Snetterton. If you view the MSV Brands Hatch web site, you can see three aerial photos taken by Jonathan Palmer of the increased run-off areas at Druids Exit (Post 6), and the exit of Graham Hill (Post 8)!!!
