Oh well, at least it will be possible to watch many (but not all, Peter!) of the missing 'star' drivers in action in today's BTCC races live elsewhere on ITV, he says, tongue firmly in cheek.

You're right of course on both - they are probably better known than most of the current drivers! I've never met Paul but know Tim quite well, having covered BTCC for many years, essentially the Super Touring era

All I've seen from Goodwood so far is two Boss Mustangs having a tussle. Great cars but not reflective of the BSCC since I believe only one ever raced and it was group 2.

Have met Tim once or twice, he often compete in enduro bike races near me, and I often go along with a mate to help and watch, nice guy, not a bad rider, remember him trying to find bits for a bike he crashed!!

Had a super day at Goodwood yesterday, great entry and some superb machinery.

My main interest was in the Gurney Cup qualifying where Cameron Jackson had fastest lap of 1.22.081 and put John Monson’s 1964 Crosslé Oldsmobile 5S on pole position. Arnie Black’s 1965 twin cam 7S qualified in P16 with a time of 1.32.46.

Well done both, race later today.

The white Mustang slightly crashed into the red one just at the exit of the chicane.

Merci encore! Il y avait un pilote français dans la 'Stang blanche mais je ne sais pas si c'est lui qui a accroché l'autre devant les stands. En tous cas, félicitations Ã* l'électricien du team, ils ont eu du mal Ã* arracher l'aile avant droite qui tenait Ã* un fil! Le train avant devait être touché.

May I ask if this information is public, please? Is it about compliancy or driving standard? You say cars so must be compliancy, right?

Five cars were marked as excluded in qually due to technical infringement - this included the Faberge car but they all seemed to have raced and be included in the R1 results

Car 7 - Lap time disallowed - contact with the chicane
Cars 2, 4, 7, 11 & 33 - Non compliance with technical regulations

If I'm right: #2 Z28 Bastos, #4 Capri Triplex, #7 Z28 Simoniz, #11 Z28 Faberge and 33 could be the Faberge Capri.
