I think FPR should look at Andrew Thompson who drove the Bottleo car at Phillip Island for their third car....that boy can steer

Yep, it's hard to bring new drivers into the sport. I would rather see the likes of Jason Richards in a proper top seat, and Steve Owen in a reasonable seat however before the likes of Thompson, Price, Moffat, Slade etc don't leave no seats for anyone else!

To replace McConville with A. Jones would be a positive move in terms of speed. NOT!!

Not so sure about Mr Thompson as a replacement for Mr Holdsworth. I just can't see Holdsworth leaving until at least 2011, when his contract ends.

There is a certain [big] oil company trying to get back into the retail game atm...

If this comes off would they get back into sponsoring V8's again...

Did Ingall have increased Castol signage on his helmet at PI? I think Slade will remain with Morris, it would be a waste putting a year into him and then dropping him. I'm sure if they wanted better results straight up, they would have gone an Owen/Canto type.

(I'm assuming Andy Jordan is a pay driver...) The budgets for those S2000 cars are probably very similar to V8 Supercars, so you would have to think he would be a contender for a drive somewhere if he brings the $$$ over (is the current exchange rate helpful? ).

if the rmoured Holdsworth, or my thought, Thompson, gig at FPR doesn't eventuate, whats the word on Canto at FPR? possibility of a ride in the alleged 3rd RNR/Bottle-O seat, or the alleged vacant 2nd seat?

You would think so, although the landscape is a lot different from when they were last in the series. Caltex would have been a good foil for SuperCheap, to get more Delo and Havoline products being sold at retail prices...

Just recieved a call from an un named sounce who got information from a further un named source (i think you know the old story) advising that Britec licence has been purchased by DJR, 3rd driver to be Steve Richards, Jason out of a drive at this time. Replacement driver at FPR being one C.Lowndes.
This is possibly all fiction and no fact, but posted it anyway as it suits the thread title.

Bright has 2 REC's (one currently leased by PCR & the one he obviously uses) and was saying at QR he wants to return to 2 cars as early as 2010, will be interesting to see what if anything transpires. cheers for passing the info on.

maybe GTR listing Bright in #67 might be on the money.

The thing about Brighty to Holden, it'll be impossible if he keeps Britek in Ford land.

not saying it isn't possible, but why would DJ want him? Would think reigniting the previous relationship with Thompson, or even Canto, could be more fruitfull?

and if it was factual, would this have anything to do with the Oil company mentioned by Retro, which I am assuming is Shell, and could want to return to the old days with DJR?

I thought DJR still only had 2 FGs, although obviously the 3 888 cars will become available. I think one is headed for PCR presuming they are able to continue with with the 2nd Britek franchise.
