Is it confirmed that Rydell is with 888? What about Fabian Coulthard, or is he in the feeder series?

They are too expensive for what you get. I would rather stay in a Quest serviced apartment for a much lower price, especially if there is a group, and can bung up to 6 people per apartment for under $200/night...

Hell would have to freeze over before Spud would work for Skaife.

But dont the 6 (maybe soon to be 7) of them in one weird way or another work for Skaife?

Depends if anyone can make sense of the legal arrangements with Holden Motorsport, SHRT, KKRT, PWR, TKR....

When they hand over legal documents to TEGA on trolleys because they are so hefty, there is no reason to assume they are well understood....

Too true, the question remains is, who will and who will not be part of Holden Motorsport next year? Is PWR really in genuine jepordy of being shafted and is TKR really in genuine contention to become part?

I know of 2 other Holden-running teams who would much prefer to plug into the HMS engine program than remain using customer powerplants (from different sources) and developing them in public....

HRT used to lease Chevs in the first few years of Supercar to their preferred teams, indeed when Cromley was running the GIO car for Bob Forbes, it had leased HRT Chevs under the bonnet...

I have heard that TKR plan to start from AGP 2004 with a VY. I understand that the 2 VX's they have are for sale.

At least one of the VX's has been in AA for sale. Would make a good Konica car if you gave it back to Larry P to bring up to latest spec, like the IRC car.

Fabian was supposedly the apple of Larry P's eye, and was linked to a 3rd CPR car for 2003... lucky he didnt take it (looking at Dumbrell's results )

Dunno. What's better - a first year drive in a top level team, or no drive at all?

Just a quick offtopic question - when a team leases an engine or engines, what happens when the engine is blown up? Does the team just give it back and get another, or is it responsible for its rebuild/replacement?

In such a high risk environment, such things would have to factored into the lease contract, wouldn't they?

Then the team owner who is lumbered with the bill sues the company contracted to maintain and prepare the vehicle, because his driver didnt act on the dashboard warning!

It gets a little more complex than that... at the end of each session, the engine supplier generally plugs his own laptop into the car, and scans for ignorance of alarms, for overrevs, and any signals that the driver has not been kind to the vehicle.. under the pretence of performance monitoring of course

If the driver mis-shifted and the thing revved to 10,800 rpm, all bets are off and the team has to pay for the rebuild. If the engine drops a valve and has not been overrevved, and is inside the recommended service life, it is the engine builder who often wears the brunt of the claim...

It the motors blow up inside their service lives, generally the team changes engine builders... or indeed they should...

This was done in Formula Holden too way back when, LP was the majority supplier to the field thanks to Holden National Leasing, who bought the powerplants from LP and supplied them to the field at varying rates depending how much Holden liked the team

Thats what Im on about, lack of PSI and lack of action on part of the nut behind the wheel, after alarms (as recorded on data logger) had triggered.

Funny though, one of the treams sponsors was closely related to the preparation contractors insurance company!

I guess you're right but stranger things have happened...

Who else would be a likely candidate for these seats?

Cameron McLean deserves a full time seat. He has the talent, and can develop a car. DJR should have picked him up instead of Maxamillion!
