Sadly not; work & domestic commitments/no accomadation/weather! I went to one of the first "old" Boss meetings at Silverstone I think Pancyrz or Worswick won that day 1996 or 1997? Hope you enjoy looks like a cracking meeting! |

EuroBOSS Organisation decided to lower the 2010 entry fee in order to help competitors saving cost in the current economic climate.
With immediate effect the new entry fee will be Euro 850,— (+ VAT if applicable) per racemeeting. The full season entry works out to Euro 6.800,— (+ VAT if applicable). The special offer for free of charge ****hotel rooms at the Portimao Superprix remains unchanged. EuroBOSS Organisation further decided that the planned TV/Video prodution will be put on hold for the moment. |

Algarve Racemeeting Cancelled Due To Volcanic Activity
Posted at 18 April 2010 by Michael Zele Further to the discussions this morning with Francisco Santos, the promoter for the Portimao Event, Mr Paulo Pinheiro CEO of Autodromo International Algarve, Bob Berridge of Group C Racing and Roger Cowman of the Euroboss Series about the existing status and forecasts for the continuing disruption caused by the Volcanic activity, we have jointly agreed to cancel the racemeeting. On examination of the facts available to us today and due to the severe nature of the apparent travel disruption, we are unable to guarantee that competitors are able to effectively travel either to, or back from, this event. Under these circumstances a decision has been made to reschedule the event for later in the year. Discussions will start early next week with the Promoter to find and agree a mutually convenient date. |

It's looking like the Monaco Historic event could also be affected, even if flights resume soon the backlog will make it difficult for all of the teams, drivers and spectators to get there, except for those who can afford the extra time & expense of driving there.

Hard luck - but a sensible measure.
Can I make a recomendation - before the professional troublemakers make a return, give us an indication of how many cars you were expecting (you can see the "you are making excuses" posts a mile off). |

it could have been, counting in some last minute entries, breaking down cars @ Hockenheim, other trouble etc. around 10 - 15 cars... hard to compare Portimao with HH, simply because of the travel distance and time required to get there and back... the race will be rescheduled... and we will find out later in the year however...the Hockenheim Historic is special, no doubt about that... |

It's hard to see how anything could be said to be right about the situation.
Poaching someone else's event and taking advantage of all the effort they have put in over many years is clearly wrong (morally at least). Comparing an event that is close to most of the competitors to one that is a considerable distance for most of them would be unfair - taking a transporter with tacho limited daily mileage to Portugal could be a 4 day trip from the UK. But everyone who has been to Portimao says it is an incredible circuit and has immediately made the list of their favourite circuits, so it should become a popular venue. |

Peter, as usual, you are totally right.
I am sure I have been seen as either a stirrer or even, heaven help, Roger Cowman in disguise, however I am just not happy with the situation as I see it from all sides. I am sure RC has made mistakes along the way, but he saw what has and always will be, a difficult series through some difficult times (especially the last couple of years of the so called Credit Crunch). For Christian take away all the years of experience (contacts, regulations, name etc.) and then proceed to issue insults to all who dare to question the situation, hiding behind his rich backers and their ability to throw money at any situation, is beyond fair play. I wonder if the backers of BOSS GP would be happy if they saw the contents of some of the messages & emails issued by their "man". There have been calls on this forum for the two series to get together and talk, I support this thinking. I had a conversation with RC early on in this saga, and he was open to negotiations on the matter with BOSS GP, but has been prevented by one persons personal vendetta, and we know who that is. Roger has told me that he doesn't want to get involved personally on this forum (I don't know if he has guessed who I am yet!) and that is probably wise (MZ is doing a good job anyway). A note to the moderators - if you are not happy with this post, please remove it entirely - not just edit, thanks. |
