BIANTE TCM at the Island
For anyone that was there on Saturday, the two BIANTE TCM races were unbelievable... The (small) crowd on their feet for the whole race, vibrant commentary, close finish etc, etc,
Any other comments? |

I'm just looking forward to the 4-wheel drifts around the mountain in under a months time!

Those minis are pathetic. The rear wing looks like something out of Scrapheap Challenge.

Yes the TCM was good to watch at PI in a weekend of great racing. But for sheer, pure fantastic racing the FF action from the Island was the best.

If TCM has been dropped from Bathurst to make way for the Minis then that is all the proof you will ever need that VE$A couldn't give a flying **** what the punters on the hill and in the stands get for their not inconsiderable investment in tickets.

I have to say i agree with the decision, Mini's won Bathurst before any of the V8s in the Biante Series, they're much more historically relevant
If they want one-make racing only (which seems to be the VESA go these days, especially as was alluded to in another thread that TCM won't be on the V8Supercar bill next year), they should invite the HQ's back, you'd get 50+ cars easily over the 13 or so Mini's that'll appear.... |

But it wasn't the BMW Minis... You make a good point, having only 13 cars on a 6km track will be pretty dismal.

The TCM's are more spectacular and more exciting to watch than the supercars. There is much more passing and dicing in one race than half the supercar series.
Of course they don't want them back, they are becoming too popular !!!!!!!!! |

According to Glen Ridge the Biante series will be back on board with the V8's for most rounds next year. He said that they're already confirmed for the Clipsal and like everyone else they're just waiting for the calendar to be confirmed before negotiations begin for other rounds.
Glen will be a guest on In Pit Lane on October 7 to talk about Biante, Carrera Cup and his involvement in local motorsport. Hopefully by that time we'll have sorted out our legal hassles and will be streaming the show LIVE every Tuesday night all over Australia (except for Victoria). |
