I suppose it also has to do with the fact that the broadcast is clearly sponsored by Kumho tyres and Stockhatch drives on another brand?
And if you all are fair, BRDA stockhatch was clearly the most boring class in Lydden, with Godfrey winning it by a mile. On the other hand, the mini's and Supermodifieds were extremely nice, not to mention the superfinal.

Yes chunder, I agree with most of your points. BUT, the thing is all classes pay the same money for TV coverage. I am not asking, and indeed I don't expect to see much Stockhatch coverage, but I do think that less than one and a half minutes air time was a bit tight. They could quite easily have cut one of Brid's pieces, and one interview (there were at least a dozen) and doubled the ammount of airtime given to the Stockhatches. Three minutes in a one hour show is not too much to ask.

Hi
I agree that more stock hatch coverage would have been better, perhaps a montage of qualifying heats before showing the final, with an interview of one of the drivers.
Must take slight issue with Silver Bullet on one point though, all classes do not pay the same towards the TV fund, supercar most, stock hatch least. See the entry forms on the website for the full schedule of costs.
Overall, i thought the coverage was better than last year, and the extra half hour helps.

Sorry Andy, I thought it was the same as last year. I haven't looked closely at an entry form this year. Pressure of work is keeping me away so I probably won't be filling one in until Knockhill. I promise to look at it more carefully when I do
Supercars pay 3 times as much as Stockhatch, and Supermods twice as much. So it is only fair they get the bulk of the coverage. I still maintain however that at least 3 minutes for the Stockhatches isn't too much to expect.

Yes it is way better than last year. The emphasis is more on the action. The fill in stuff has been kept to the same level as it was in the half hour show, so it does not seem to take up half the programme, as it did last year.

Pembrey coverage is on Motors TV tonight.
It's a bit short notice for the first showing in 5 min's, but it is on again at 11pm.

I have to say I could not fault tonights coverage. All classes got a reasonable amount of air time (even Stockhatches ). Plenty of action and just the right amount of fill. Great programme, well done
Mind you, I had to laugh at young Like Pinder's comment. Looks like Tina's giving him good tips in the art of rallycrossing

I assume you did know I was talking about the British Rallycross Championship compared to the Open Rallycross Series?
The Open series only had a couple of Supercars and looked very, very low key.
I can't quite understand why the organisors don't concentrate their efforts on some sort of double header Rallycross Superprix at the end of the season.

Perhaps it is because The Open Championship is becoming more succesful year on year, unlike the BRDA events it improves year on year.Just look at entries, last lydden BRDA 55, tomorrows Blyton that nobody wants to compete at according to some 66 entries.
I do believe that ANY rallycross on TV can only be good for the sport as a whole.
