MotoGP Silly Season 2009
There didn't seem to be a thread on next year so I thought I'd start one. Riders have started to sign contracts and the 2009 season is taking shape. Who goes where next year might be more interesting than some of the racing we've had so far
So here goes, very quick list, feel free to remove question marks and fill in the blanks: Yamaha Fiat - Valentino Rossi / Jorge Lorenzo Yamaha Tech 3 - Colin edwards / James Toseland Honda Repsol - Dani Pedrosa / Andrea Dovizisio ?? Honda Gresini - Shinya Nakano ?? / Alex de Angelis Honda JiR Team Scot - Ben Spies ?? Honda LCR - Randy de Puniet ?? Ducati Marlboro - Casey Stoner / Nicky Hayden Ducati Alice - Toni Elias ?? / ?? Suzuki Rizla - Chris Vermeulen / Loris Capirossi Kawasaki - John Hopkins / Marco Melandri Kawasaki Aspar ? - Anthony West ?? |

I guess Suzuki will only be running the two bikes, so no space for Ben Spies? Where does the JiR rumour come from? Hayden at Ducati is likely but not confirmed yet. It looks like Aspar wants Alvaro Bautista but Kawasaki want to keep West in MotoGP - to be honest I'd say Aspar has the right idea as Westy has completely failed to shine through on the potential he showed in 2007.

Would Gibernau partner Elias at Alice Ducati??!! Honda JiR are losing Dovi to HRC so maybe want to stay in MotoGP? Would Aspar field two bikes in MotoGP? I agree, Westy hasnt had the best season as of late. Would Ben Spies not go WSBK maybe?
I dont follow 250GP that close. Are any riders stepping up? |

I would say Simncelli might step up, been in 250 for ages, him and Alvaro maybe?
Takahashi to take Nakano's ride I heard And not sure about Ben, the JiR rumour was aired live on BBC by Burnett so may be true may be rubbish! I think WSBK would be a better option, leanr the tracks know the bike, all he has to do is learn tyres and surely Nieto cant last nor Kagayama, both been rubbish this year. Perhaps keep Nieto for sponsor but Kag, no way As for Sete, I'm not sure. If they get rid of Guinters for him thast harsh. but rumour is that Alice team are much closer to Corse now that Dantin has gone, so Sete testing bike might be a reason for that move. West shoud pack up, go home. Bike is a dud mate, get into WSS and sign for Ten Kate, go and wallop a Turk!! |

So should West pack up & go home or ride for Ten Kate - confused
Think West should take a Kwaka SBK ride if it is offered, pointless taking the ASPAR ride & i hope it isnt offered.... Simoncelli on the Ducati (not Hayden) would be very exciting... |

Just think West should get off of GP bikes and ride WSS. He was good on that last time.
Kwak WSBK isa disgrace, if he wants to stay with Kawa go and ride AMA but then he might get beat by 40 year old Hacking as he did at Laguna!! lol |

Well Hayden's now confirmed his exit from Honda, not that anybody didnt know already. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/70483
He also dismisses talk of taking the rest of the year off to heal up. |

A rumor about Gibernau to Ducati, "A project is being put together,(which is well advanced.) to get a 5th Ducati GP9 on the grid next year. The team will be headed up by Angel/Gilete Nieto and will have a major Spanish sponsor,Repsol? Or a bank I suggest." Taken form another forum.
On Hayden, i have noticed that his trainer is non other than Aldon Baker. Who is he you may ask, he trained the G.O.A.T Ricky Charmicheal (now retired) and currently works with James "Bubba" Stewart, both VERY successful AMA MX riders. So Hayden is doing somthing right! |

Would be nice to see an extra Ducati, regardless of who's running and riding it. We still don't have any confirmed rookies for 2008, but hopefully one or two will get to move up.
