teams should look to bands for sponser's

With the likes of Larko, Faulkner and the rumoured third TWR team looking for sponsers, why don't they follow the lead of a guy in the UK.

He wanted to enter a team of Chev Corvettes in the Interactive Sportscar Championship, so he spoke to the manager of brit girl band Atomic Kitten and they decided to sponser the team, and it is now known as Atomic Kitten Motorsport, i know the ISC is dead but they now run in FIA GT, Brit GT, ALMS and ELMS races.

Maybe Larko and the rest in need of some money should be out after Bardot or Midnight Oil backing, and it would add a new dimension to the series sponsership, or would Tony ban this because all the focus would be on the sponser's rather than him.

At the Indy 500 this year, my favourite band, Aerosmith, sponsored (my least favourite driver) Jeff Ward's car too.

Racer 69,
i think going by the state of the music industry in Australia, and the small population, there's probably more chance of a team sponsoring a band!
As for a band sponsoring a team, you would need a Kylie or Savage Garden before you would be talking to someone with the neccesary capital and exposure to possibly reap any benefits.

About 12 years ago INXS sponsored David Clement's Suzuki GTi in the Production Car Championship. What I could never understand was, why? What was in it for INXS?

I reckon Hoyts or one of the big cinema chains should sponsor a car and the art work would change every month.

For example, last month the car could have been Planet of the Apes and this month Jurassic Park III.

INXS would have done it to write off money David. As you are probably aware they made a fortune and I'm pretty sure the Farriss brothers father was an off shore banker.I reckon he 'd have a few ways of beating tax etc etc Could be another reason but that the only one that makes sense to me.

On the Hoyts sponsership, in the AMA Superbikes, the factory Honda team is sponsered by Universal Studios, so the paint colours change at the rounds when a new movie is released.
