I don't know why Jeff bothers turning up this year. I hope his all new livery brings him luck in '09!

It looked like he was going to get away with it until right at the end of all that.
Red flag. I'm off to bed, recording the rest... |

Yeah, Jimmie looks like he'll have a decent points lead.

Jimmie has extraordinary luck.
But I must say, he has driven better than ever this year. |

racing at Taladega and Daytona has become a joke. what a shame for Regan Smith and to the others that got screwed because of NASCAR & Goodyear; silly rules and crap tires.
Plate/Pack racing, while exciting for the first couple of races you watch, is the dumbest, most asinine part of NASCAR racing. 500 miles at 190 MPH shouldn't take so long to finish. i guess the fans love to see the wrecks; most of them standing and cheering during 2nd "BIG ONE". all the talk leading up to the race was about the bigone, knowing that it was going to happen. LAME! at least i enjoyed my weekend at PLM and slept thru most of this one. congrats to Tony. Finally gets a win in the Cup series at 'dega. |

I would have enjoyed seeing Smith hold his line as Stewart moved to block. I actually watched the entire race and was rewarded with a very Nascar finish. Smaller engines anyone?

It was a shame for Regan, Nascar says he didn't get forced down (although, they probably wouldn't have given him the win, even if they said he had), but his only options were either going below the line, hitting Stewart (would be very unpopular, although he probably have been across the s/f line first) or backing off (not going to happen).
It could have been a great race if not for the tyre problems and the late caution, I hate gwcs on plate tracks, as it means there is only prob 3 cars max in with a chance, if it kept going how it was, anyone could have won it with 2 to go. |

When will they do away with this ridiculous yellow line rule? And when will they stop selectively enforcing their loosely worded rules? Probably never on both counts. Stewart clearly forced him under the yellow line; shouldn't they both be penalised? Or is it OK for Tony because he's a more popular driver? Hmmm... All hail the real winner, Paul Menard! |
