Brands Hatch 1st-2nd October
Second Pratice is currently on.
But the results from FP1 can be found here: http://tinyurl.com/66qfqbd With 29 cars on the grid it'll surely be a very busy weekend. Who knows what lies in store for the championship? Can Mat Jackson bounce back after two dreadful meetings? Will Honda's luck run out? Can Plato win at Brands again? |

Hello - anyone out there?!
Intriguing interview with Fabrizio Giovanardi after qualifying - says he is aiming to get back in the BTCC for next season. Would be great to see that happen. |

Oh so why were the NGTC cars so low down the timings?

The heat probably stifled the power. The cynical side of me says they've proved their point, now they've been turned down to their natural level.

Tim Harvey mentioned during the qualy that the pure NGTC cars had a further boost reduction this weekend ...... Although there doesn't appear to be any press releases floating around like previous alterations.

Not sure about Rob Austin but Frank Wrathall dropped it into the Clearways gravel on his third flying lap, he had a lot more to come.

because all turbo cars have had their boost reduced again! to be brutaly honest i think BTCC is a fix this year for Jason Plato to look like the big "hero" when in reality his behaviour and manor in which he shown himself this year should not be admired at all. To think he is on the board of BRDC aswell.....

I'm not sure why, but some people do get quite hysterical when talking about Jason Plato and general logic seems to fly out of the window...

What's annoying me most about these restrictions on the turbo cars, is that it's supposed to be making all the cars 'equivalent', surely that should go both ways, and we should end up with a bunch of cars running close to each other, with only success ballast and driver skill making the big differences. For a team to have to run such high camber just to try and keep up (which looked like it was only happening in the early part of the race), and subsequently destroy the tires, *isn't* equivlanecy.. |

My god that race was dull. As good a track as the GP loop is for the drivers, it's rubbish for overtaking. There's maybe one slow corner at Druids and that's it. The other corners rely on somebody making a mistake and losing momentum, enabling the chasing driver to take advantage and pass. At least with the Indy circuit you have Clearways as another overtaking spot.

Gio interview just been replayed.
He's at Brands to keep contact with teams and find something for next year. Ready to make a comeback but not easy (money) but is trying. Has been watching the title fight, frustrated not to be part of it. |

Geez, someone took their negative pills today, didn't they?
Alright racing today I think, makes it very interesting for Silverstone. Standings incredibly close between Plato, Neal and Shedden, with Jackson still having an outside chance too. Brands is often credited to be one of the best circuits in the country, but I've never been that great a fan of it. Doesn't seem to give too many overtaking chances. There's more on the GP loop than the god awful Indy loop, but I'd still prefer for them not to go there twice. |

But after race 3 Plato was still whining about the turbo cars and not being able to pass them, so no doubt they will secretly turn the boost down for silverstone aswell
oh and while we are on the subject of silverstone, the ticket prices are a joke. £29 in advance?! |

A crying shame he hasn't been part of the championship for the past couple of years. Would love to see him back!
