The high altitude should indeed play in favour of the turbo engines. Look at how close to the Rebellions the CLM is

In 2012 Toyota took their first victory here in Brazil. Fuji has a high altitude as well. Not as high as Interlagos though. Could be the tire compound. Maybe expecting different conditions for the race? Not that they have to win. If even only one car finishes, they take the championship.

OK, so NA engine looses power with altitude, but what happens with efficiency (BSFC)?

In theory you could go with higher compression at higher altitude to offset that power deficit, wouldn't that work? The question is if this is even a possible adjustment on a engine?

Based on the forecast, raceday could give Bahrain a run for it's money as far as being the hottest raceday this season, and it'll probably be more humid on top of that.

Audi may've found something in FP2, as both cars were around 300km/h into the speed traps, yet they were over .5 of a second faster than anyone in sector 2, which is the twisty bits.

Kind of intresting to look at the sector times. The Porsche is very fast on S1 and S3, where as Audi seem quite superior on S2. Toyota is sort of in the middle everywhere. Lotus managed to beat the LMP2s. Also it's nice to see the Ligier showing its pace again. Performing like a new car should be.

This is shaping up to be a strategically interesting race. Low tyre degradation because of the new surface, and the performance difference between turbo and N/A engines because of the altitude (around 800m asl) means a couple of new variables.
And it will be hot and might rain.

Good qualifying. Looks like itll be close in the race if Porsche can keep their pace through the stint. Toyota definitely upped their performance from yesterday. GTE is the same scenario if Porsche can match Aston.

What a sh**ty streaming today... at first the sound was too low and no background sound. Then it raised, but i had at least four cuts in the video, and had to refresh the website (which meant stood up from the sofá and press F5 in the laptop )

Anyone suffered video dropouts??

Remark i've paid the 5 bucks for the race weekend.

Note the incredible consistency of the Bergmeister/Leitz pair - .003 and .002 sec difference over each pair of laps and only about .08 sec between the two drivers.

I had assumed those problems were down to free stream hoster, but if they originated from the WEC feed then I'd be miffed if I paid. Hopefully it's better for the race.
