Brad Jones Update

I heard Brad Jones on Local ABC radio this morning talking about the repairs to his car.
Basically everything is just about done and the team are just finishing off and tidying up the car.
Allthough Brad hasnt driven the car yet he thinks it has come up better than it was before (But then again they all say that dont they ?) and he is looking for a good result at the Creek.

According to his teams telemetry he actually hit McConvilles car at 178 kph and was producing 3.5 G's at the time.
he has a little whiplash and a few brusises but is otherwise in fine condition.

he is hoping for a top 10 placing at the creek to help him get a grip on this years championship.

he also announced a new sponsor Yesterday , with the Allbury SS&A club coming on board rumored to be worth $50,000 over 3 years or something like that.

he will actually become an ambassador for the club and work with them in giving back to our local community through working with youth and schools and clubs affiliated sporting teams and the large membership base the club has (which reminds me I havent renewed my mebership yet )

Not a huge sponsorship deal I know but brad is slowly building up a base of local Albury sponsors and has 3 reasonably big ones in ION (Formerly BTR engineering and formerly before that Borg Warner gearboxes , Harvey Norman have also been involved I believe and now the SS&A club.

Not massive news but hey it's something to read

Go get em at the creek Brad .

Hmmm Albury - can understand the Airmen, but Seaman and Sailor's - ship got a bit lost?

All the best to Brad - and no outting sponsors logos on the bottom of the car!

SS&A = Soldiers Sailers and Airmen.

Besides, Hume weir is big enough to float a boat, depending on how Dartmouth Dam is flowing.

I must admit to a few good nights out on the town in Albury starting at the SS&A for a quiet meal at the bistro and a flutter on the pokies on the way out the door, A few good wins and headaches to boot!

ah I was close rdmdog , I knew it was to do with our returning servicemen anyway

We are clever here in Albury , we pay so much attention to our visitors we make it damm hard for them to leave (at present its fairly difficult to cross the border into Victoria due to local councils being asleep and all of us thinking we are Brad Jones and having prangs on the causeway at an alarming rate )

C'mon Racetime, you should know that Wagga Wagga has a huge Naval base, not sure why, but just that they have one.

BTW, why are camels called ships of the desert? - no, no I shouldn't go there.

Not a Naval Base Trev but we do train members of the Navy (as well as Air Force) in avionics through the RAAF Base at Forest Hill.

Brad's base at Lavington, about an hour and a half south of here, makes BJR the closest thing we have to a local team...

Brad is Canberras local team - Andrew Jones has a Gregorys Ford 5.4L Forte (with 18in wheels) company car and sponsorship across the windscreen...

Brad also has a semi regular spot on the commercial radio station - or so I have been told. Unfortuantely, you don't head much V8Supercar news on JJJ
