MichaelC should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Bedford Autodrome is, or perhaps I mean was, the home of the (racing) series that was Formula Palmer Audi. Which, as I understand it, we don't like. So let's hope there are none of those kicking about.

Au contraire mon ami mate,
Palmer-Audi vs Clio V6...

They might be quicker in a straight line but in a decent panel banging competition I know which I'd rather be in!

We know someone who is good with trackdates, don't we viewers?

Entrance..... Lorna.....

Summarising this up is gonna be difficult! But seeing as I know what most of the regulars like then I will have a go.

MichealC - costs will obviously depend on the venue we pick so it's important to get as many people going as possible to contribute.

These dates do not have on BTCC, Powertour, Historic weekend events, Mighty Minis (bear with me - this will probably not be 100% accurate):

12/13 May
9 June
28/29 July
2 September
20/21 October
27/28 October

7/8 July is probably out as people will be going to Goodwood Festival of Speed
15/16 September is probably out as people will be going to Goodwood Revival meeting.

Well, that was alot of dates! Unless we go for the winter months.

Views on what races you would miss for this would help me out. Am I assuming that Chris would be bringing his mini along? Hmmm? Chris???

I wanna go in both!!!!! lots and lots of times!!!!

Cheers Invader

Are we doing this instead of the Charity Day? If that is the case, does it matter if it clashes or is Rick expected to make an appearance?

Well, it looks like the summer months are out then if all the free dates I have come up with are taken up. I don't plan to go to any of those (apart from Mighty Minis) so I can make them

Tipping 9th June I may be in Spa...

Are there no balmy August days when the racing world is pretending to take a brief holiday when we could grab a track and destroy some tyres?

Craig, please as a newbie to the topic, go back and read the whole thing before you wander in all discombobulated?

Suggestion was that it might be nicer (ie warmer and cheaper) to rent a track for the day, have a barby and all the 10-tenths racers bring along their beasts and give demo rides, than to freeze our nads off at Snet.

Bruntingthorpe days out can be a blast Vader, esp. if you have just finished racing a Caterham and the instructors don't warn the delightful blonde instructor who you are... she took me on a very in depth explanation of a Caterham (where the pedals are etc) and then foolishly remained in the passenger seat for a set of slightly swift demo laps...
Quote at launch "Have you driven one of these before then? Hellllpppp" sorry I drifted away there for a moment....

Umm! Some very long words there Rick Rick! I hope Craig is now reading the thread from start to finish.

So you expect August to be warm and dry - after what weather we have had this year - no seriously it sounds fun.

Pity hubby will be on combine parts duty but I can see a case of the 'dicky tummy' coming to the rescue!

So Aug 4th Snetterton - why not (thinking aloud here) don't we all get together on Aug 5th Sunday. Most of us will be in the vicinity or is that too much of a problem with cars etc.
Aug 11th Croft,
18th Powertour Knockhill (not many will be going there!),
25th BTCC Oulton Park,
Sep 1st Thruxton Powertour.

If you think i'm going through and reading all that lot you ? Better think again!

Think we can probably discount Snett, Les, it's part of the Octagon group, and likely to be very expensive... and it's almost certainly unavailable on that Sunday. Having said that... it is pretty much the only Sunday i've got free this summer...

I had discounted that day as it was after the Night Race but it is probably the best day and plenty of time to plan.

All that is going on that day that I know about are.... ooooh! Maestro's - can Maisie pull herself away? - it is in Knockhill New Era Motorcycling at Mallory, Alfa Romeos at Anglesey, BRSCC meeting at Donington, Aston Martin Hill Climb at Loton Park, Derby P at Cadwell and the rest is abroad.

Is that a yes from people?

Barbie, Rick? My mum has a proper one in the shed that I can bring for such a special occassion and I'm sure a few of us can bring something other than burgers and sausages (like steak, chicken goujons, corn on the cob, etc). I don't mind being in charge of catering as long as people will chip in with the cash.

Do you mean Carrie's Vauxhall Corsa and my 9 year old Rover? Could be interesting! Although my car is good at skidding if nothing else Tell you what though, if anyone has a motorbike, I would love a lesson!

I meant Bedford airdrome is not that far from Snetterton - 65 miles. And it's on the way home for a lot of you.

But those bringing beasts on trailers - what would they do with them Saturday?

It can't be August the 5th, because the 4th is my birthday, and I'll have to wait until about midday on the 5th before I'll be back in a legal state to drive anywhere. Feel free to start without me though...

5th seems like a cunning plan then... assuming we can get a circuit...
I think we might have to restrict it to those track legal beasts as I don't fancy the thought of all these chicanes...
I had enough trouble last year what with that SD1 that now has the Renault diamond imprinted on the back bumper...
So who else has got a track beast to give rides in?

Chris Y: Mini and Maestro
RickP: Clio V6
maybe (assuming we still have it)
Paul L: Clio 172

Cheers

4th - 5th August is out for us, I'm afraid. That weekend it's the Snetterton night race, and the day after we're at a classic car show that I wouldn't miss for the world.

You're not letting me on the circuit then? Besides, compared with your V6, just about everything is a chicane..

Some of the CSCC lads may help out if we ask nicely - Slowcoach? Mr Guy? So you may get SD1s again

Don't think the Maestro will make it without some serious work, and if it did I'd need a few more seats.

The 5th appears to be a bit of a bad day for a lot of people, anything else on offer?

Coming up with a day in the summer seems impossible.

If the drivers can have a look at the dates they are driving and then suggest some and we can then see what we can dwindle it down to. Looking at my calendar and trying to find a suitable date is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I suppose, (I know it mentioned ealier on) a weekday maybe probably be better?
