The build and flight in the Eurofighter took up nearly 1/3 of the programme.

Nothing really about the ground crew and engineering, nothing about AT, AEW or Nimrod, nothing about SAR, nothing about UAVs etc. Of course 90 mins isn't long to do a single programme about the history of the RAF - should have been a series - but take McGregor's gushing out of it and they could have fitted all that in. Sorry! I must be getting grumpier in my old age!
Not for me to say, but.... Sorry it didn’t live up to your expectations, but you’re right about trying to cram a series into one 90 min programme. I enjoyed the Typhoon, especially the shots of them taking off. Reminded me of the EE Lightning with its vertical climb......

If anyone is thinking of using the M1 on the weekend of 11 May through Junction 23a and J24 (Donington Park, East Midlands Airport, A50 to Stoke), don't. The motorway is to be shut ALL WEEKEND for the installation of a new bridge from 20:00 on Friday 11 May to about 1500 on Sunday 13 May.

I think there is an endurance bike meeting on at Donington that weekend.

There is supposed to be a diversion along the parallel A453, however, I can foresee chaos.[/QUOTE]

Oh good, I'm off to a Kart meeting @ Wombwell.

Mike, did you see Look East this evening? They were trailing a story they are running tomorrow about a distant relative of mine. His name was Gordon Flowerdew & he was posthumously awarded the VC for his part in the Battle of Moreil Wood, near Amiens, where he led a cavalry charge.

It is the 100th anniversary this weekend & there are two days of commemorations, including a re-enactment.

As usual with 'spin', not the whole story. Current design chief Russell Carr is still in charge at Hethel, but Horbury and Geely are taking more interest....

Apologies but was watching 'the other side,' as Angular TV tends to be known.....

Not mine, but can wish...... It’s a proper Gp2 Sud Sprint, and absolutely the dogs wotsits. Been a race car all it’s life, but just restored and uprated to full Gp2 spec. Apparently bit of a flying machine...... Hope the owner races it at Donington!

Awesome. Loved my road car in the late 80s. And loved my 33 race car - great handling.

Have a good one. Weather terrible here at MM Towers. Can't believe it's much better on the south coast although it is clearing north.

Thank you for your kind offer, but no thanks if it's all the same to you.

We are already under about 6 inches of snow since last night, and the white stuff is still coming down heavily as I write.

We used to rally a Sud Sprint back in the 80s - superb on tarmac, less so on loose....

Who's car is this, Mike? As the AROC Director with responsibility for Motorsport I'm trying to track every Alfa in competition, so anyone with information on racing Alfas, feel free to keep me posted

Weatherwise the last day of the BSB meeting at Donington finally got underway at about 13:30 - around 2 hours later than scheduled for the day.

Solid rain all morning and still very overcast but the prediction on Accuweather is for little or no rain until about 5pm so they may just have a half decent afternoon of racing.

Further north and west, the second GT race at Oulton Park has been abandoned.

I was at PFI kart track near Newark last three days, nearly stayed overnight until today - so glad I didn't.

All racing abandoned not just the GTs. Sensible.if a shame for the hardy souls who went to watch.

I stand corrected bit I don't recall a season starting like this with so many abandoned meetings. Global warming?

Heard of but haven't seen yet, Peter. David Margailles had his GTV6 out at CTCRC meet a week ago

I saw the GT race had been stopped early.....some mates have been down at Oulton today but I must admit I chickened out when I saw the forecast. The racing has been pretty good until now, though, I believe, and from what I can tell from TSL.

In the 10 years or so since I started racing, I've not had many wet races, although in 2016 we did lose the whole race afternoon at Donington, which was a bit of a pain.....

It's not feeling especially warm around here Peter.

I think the last of the BSB races probably saw a mainly dry track this afternoon and maybe was run in the sunshine that we had for about 15 minutes before the next batch of clouds (now warmer and from the SW) darkened the sky once again.

There may be some H&S/Circuit insurance angles to a lot of this and perhaps the competitors with fairly expensive machines not wishing to risk too much budget this early in the season.
