Such an unfair outcome for you Iain particularly after all the time and effort I know you will have put in.
Super weekend for me at at a super circuit, I certainly picked the right weekend to visit Anglesey, weatherise. Thanks to all involved.

Good to meet delta again and well done on the 2nd place and award. Sounds like HSCC plan to return to Trac Mon which is a good thing.

One or two fuller grids would have been good but the overall ambiance of the circuit, the promotion (banners, school kids, BBC Wales slot), Tom Pryce moment and weather made for a good weekend.

There's also other things in the area for friends and family who aren't quite as interested in motorsport as some of us are. We made a weekend of it and Mrs dwh43scale enjoyed time at Plas Newydd (National Trust house and gardens), Newborough beach and the Puffin Island boat trip.

I will be writing up my spectator snappers guide on www.pistonclick.com over the next few days

In a very random end of Sunday meeting with an Aussie racer who told me he goes to Philip Island for the Bikes but not cars (he lives right out on the West coast), he reckoned Anglesey, as a track and with the welcome shown by the circuit, was just as good as PI for club racing purposes.

I am convinced that if Anglesey and its situation/scenery was located on the Essex, Kent or Hampshire coasts with decent road access it would be the home of the British GP and one of the best loved circuits in the world. Imagine the TV views of F1 cars through the corkscrew with the sea and a “south coast Snowdon” in the back ground?!

Agreed, Andy - looking forward to this weekend - especially as on the International Circuit that we do on Saturday (and which I've never driven before) we'll have a full 42 car grid as our Future Classics are combined with Modern Classics.

Just have to remember to turn left instead of going down the Corkscrew on Saturday

Have a good day - the only (minor) shame about the last weekend was that the Corkscrew was not used !

Ah - we're having a rare double-header so using Coastal (with the corkscrew) on Sunday.

I've been thinking that HSCC could do a split 2 day even with coastal on one day and the full circuit in the other (for the larger grids).

So long as the likely number of cars entered does not compromise the specific configuration's licence (or rather the number of entries received and runnable) that would make for a really entertaining weekend for all.

The shorter version on day 2 would make sense to allow for attrition on day one!

CSCC have had to be a little creative with the merging of different series to manage the lower numbers allowed on the Coastal circuit - the Future Classics 70s classes are merged with one of the Swinging Sixties groups on Sunday

Hmm.

With careful deployment of a few traffic cones they could run on both configurations at the same time surely?

Probably end up with very similar lap times?

Oh, and I should have said how good it was to hear some experience and knowledge on the PA at the weekend - including riffing on Imp variants during the rather uneventful Historic Saloons race. Thank you Messrs Titchmarsh and Pye.

Thanks for the photos dwh –*never been, looks a great circuit. Strange to see the track doubling back on itself without barriers in this day and age.

Pattern spotting.

The main difference is that the last 2 pics were separated by a fire in the engine area and a red flag that allowed the fire response vehicle to attend (via a very practical short cut).

One of the most puzzling thing about the Historic Racing scene is that almost without exception whenever there is an incident of some sort there seems to be a Jeff Bloxham about.

I can't help but conclude there are clones available.

The Datsun looked fantastic through the lens. I don't doubt it was equally good seen up close in the metal.

Preferably pointing in the right direction! and yes it did look good in the flesh. I thoroughly enjoyed the spectacle at Anglesey and there was a reasonable turn out on the spectator banks particularly on Sunday. Given the remote location I think the HSCC grids were pretty impressive, well done to all.

I spent the weekend at the CSCC Anglesey meeting . My first visit - and it has leaped to being my second favorite UK track . Cadwell will always be first , but I loved the combination of gradients, very fast sections and technical sections - and even better was the absence of debris fencing and the ability to circumnavigate the whole circuit . And that's before I get started on the stunning views.

Great racing too.
