Well... The blokes working on the car at the end of the day were speaking with each other in Italian, if that means anything.

Could be a bit of factory support. Not sure how much Maranello Motorsport have got either. Just thought with Griffin onboard the team might get a bit of support seeing as though hes a factory driver.

Wheel off, chassis damage... if the engine/transmission unit has moved... the re-alignment of all that would need a miracle...

Is the TAFE Smash Repair team up there this weekend?

Only Q1, but 2 Australian operated machines in the top 5, and the Ferrari looks threatening.

I'm going out on a limb here and going to assume that the Audi's and Mercs may be playing the BoP game, or perhaps the Phoenix crew aren't exactly of the level of Joest.

Mr Bowe matched the times of Mr Simonsen in the Ferrari, which surprised me a little, being a long time out of a Ferrari seat... the only challenge in that car is understanding how close to the others that Mr Edwards is...

Mr Lowndes bopped around yesterday in the 2.15's in practice... they arent as serious when they dont need to be... its not like Team Vodafone, who seem to be only able to get their jollies out of a weekend if they are quickest in every session...

Not absolutely convinced about the Mercedes... the cars dont look as well dialled in, as pacy, as the Audis... its a very long wheelbase on that car, and doesnt seem to change direction as well as the Ferrari or Audi... but seems to fairly rocket up the straights...

And the small JBS Lamborghini team is doing really well too... young Scudd is bumping off competitive times to his two teammates..

The Lotus looks like it needs a new left side, no word on mechanical damage.

Mr Lillie reckons his Commodore can have a new corner put in, and be out for qualifying 2 this afternoon.. this car looks pretty... although I wonder if Hugo Boss might be a bit upset that Boss Plaster has um... similarised his logo

Unfortunately one of my predictions has come true, i expected this car to dnf with ted at the wheel before the end of the weekend, not this early though.

Credit to him for racing at his age, but its certainly not the first time his crashed this car and it was always a likely scenario this weekend.

Feel sorry for all the drivers, ted as the owner and also our forum member ffs who i believe was working on the car this weekend.

I missed the first half of qualifying, but if it is true how could craig baird have made such a bad mistake by going a whole second under the time limit? I wonder if the officials will be lenient as no one seems to understand the need for the rule anyway when its not being applied during the race. (Yes i understand the cutoff time, but surely it can be modified so that the production cars dont have to match it exactly)

Black falcon was alot slower then expected in outright pace.

Without Mr Huglin, there is no CCC Lamborghini.

Accidents happen. Sad for the event that the car is out, sad for the team, and for Mr Huglin who probably feels quite crap right about now... with a car that may be a total write off, and a crew without a car to drive or fettle

Plus being a little more mature than average, a crash of this nature may not be too good for his health.

Yep gotta feel for Ted and the whole team, but at the same time I agree with Nafe, this outcome is becoming a little predictable.

That said kudos for the guy getting out there and giving it a go, I can only hope that at his age I'm still racing, but maybe he needs to find a more driveable car, that Lambo has got to be a beast of a thing to drive! Could still be a front runner, just something a little less twitchy lol. Maybe an Audi? Merc? What are the Ferrari's like to drive?

Sadly it does sound like the Lambo is a possible write off, so good opportunity to look for something a little less aggressive.
