So are those in HQs but they aren't regularly running around on the Supercar support calendar.

Interesting that despite the moves to go to a universal V8 powerplant, the Superutes are no certainties to appear in 2020 with Supercars stipulating that a minimum of 14 cars must appear. 14 is the largest the category has ever had at any meeting in its lifetime.

I think this will be dead and buried before it's first outing, I can't see any manufacturer getting on board with this plan of a GM engine in your Ford, Mazda, Isuzu, Mitsubishi.

Super 2 are racing happily on the Supercars drawcard with obsolete Falcon and Commodore however.

Bring them back, put FGX and VF front ends on them. Can string a few more seasons out of the Australian utes yet before dropping down to state racing schedules.

They were always a popular class with sponsors *if* costs can be kept under control.

Whilst this is a good category, it does lack a number of events.
$$$ will always hurt this group, but if they could some how get together and support a couple of the major events , then sponsors dollars and fans would be happy to support them.

One other thing that is hurting the whole Supercars racing business plan is fan based demographics.

current support base age bracket 40+ , family and friends of racers.
where are the crowds from the 18 - 40 bracket ?

Most young ppl don't really follow an old commodore and falcon racing.
sad , but that's the way it is

The 18-40 demographic are even more unlikey to follow the (far from ) super utes..... even though a lot of them probably drive them on the road.

Yeah I thought the point of the series was these manufacturers could use it to promote their duel cab ute wares, so now dumping a corvette engine in doesn't make a lot of sense.

TA2 has plenty of fans but has a Corvette engined Mustang.

But it doesn't have manufacturer involvement.
