As you say, when it was first unveiled by DJR, itf front splitter was more like a standard EB XR8 road car front bumper, with a skirt attached.

It was also originally unveiled with that livery design, but the back of the car was red (yellow front), instead of the blue shown here at the 92 bathurst media day.

Are you sure? I just found a photo in Johnson's autobiography of the unveiling and the back is definitley blue.

Fair enough. I remember when the first pic's came out, but cannot remember the back red. Anyone got a photo to help jog the memory?

Here you go, DJR EB1 in its orginal Red & Yellow livery. notice that as well as the xr8 front bumper with a skirt, the rear wing is a different design to what was eventually used:

Oh GTR - good to see another bathurst winner is being restored to how it finished - i remember seeing them at lakeside about a month after bathurst 1997. so much technology for a touring car - no wonder super tourers became too expensive to run (especially the BMW's and Audi's)

I can honestly say I still can't remember ever seeing it red. How the memory fades over the years.
I still do love those BBS wheels though.

Is the second BMW for sale the disqualified 97 winner?

To answer my own question:
http://www.my105.com/classified.asp?id=6761

the ad says its SBR AU5 - the Gardner Crash car based on Motorsport News' history story last month.

Its in Brisbane - anyone know where/with whom/what condition?

As for that Seton EF above, is that Glenn's "oh so close" car from Bathurst 1995?

Is'nt SBR AU5 Owen Kelly's 'stolen' ride?

Yes it's the 'oh so close' car! Second place in 95, with AJ and Grice.

According to the MNews article, The Dean Neville/Terry Wyhoon cars are SBR AU 3 & SBR AU 4 (i think AU3 (ex Kevin Mundy, Wyhoon's car this year) is the car Kelly was to drive last weekend, as Neville has been/is driving AU4). AU5 is the Gardner car, hasnt raced since. Phil Nicols in Qld bought the remains - i guess that he is selling it on my105 - has it been fixed does anyone know?

So the GSR car was AJ's 2nd place car at Bathurst 95, Not Seton's car that broke while he was leading with an hour to go?

I don't think nine laps would take an hour.

Alfa GTV6 for sale

I would suggest that Mr Gulson wouldnt have spent the asking price over the racing life of the car, including the buy price...

Don't know how original that car is now. It had a birthday a few years ago when owned by Ross Halliday and now sports a red cage and interior. I think that's DJR AU#9, the first of the AUs built by DJR, so it has some history.

It is for sale in Europe also, Here for GBP £50,000... which at today's exchange rate of A$1 = GBP 0.4182 (thanks to ANZ.com) means its worth A$119,560.02....

I guess that confirms that the HPM/Ant racing deal to use Evangelou's BA is now for the whole season. Do you have a link to an ad for the AU? I'd be interested to hear what price they want for it.

For a pic of how the team last raced it (Youlden's car at Winton), see below link:
