Nina and I HOPEFULLY will be at this one in Race Mode. Busy trying to get finances sorted for it....which is proving touch and go.

Nina has never driven Cadwell - so is rather worried.....as we know how technical it is...

However 750 MR2 Class A Championship at stake - currently 2nd....has a good chance of just pipping it at the post.....

As at Silverstone where the support was just immense - she needs it here as well.....

Suggest Nina takes her travel sickness pills in the morning as that is the normal problem Cadwell causes.

I see there are 26 races + a number of practice sessions to cram into the final 2 days at Cadwell. Reasonably good fields for the time of year as well. What an excellent way to round off the marshalling year...if the weather holds!
First stop , the deli in Woodhall Spa .....just sets you up for the weekend. Then a couple of pints of Frisky Frog at the Wheatsheaf!!
See you all early Saturday morning.

Tickets received.. packed schedule. The finals on the web mention a "roadworks warning" but doesn't contain the details. Any ideas what this is??

Hoping for a swift 7 days.

Dan,

I don't know of any that would directly affect your journey - here's a link http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/lincolnshire/#roadworks

I'm with you on the swiftness.....

The roadworks warning sent out in the finals, is a stretch of the A157 between Hainton and Louth. Suggested alternative route is the A631 to the North, at Ludford to Louth.

The AA shows the route i normally take (search York - Cadwell Park), but there are roadworks on the A63 at South Cave which is affecting the entry and exit slip roads as well (not sure of the timings and directions etc) so might be worth heading for Beverley then towards Humber Bridge

Roadworks aside, it is now just a few days to this event. Still space for flag and incident volunteers, the usual volunteering methods should work.

Eight hardened 'Southern Softies' are breaking out the thermal underwear and rum rations as we speak. Reindeers have been feed, watered and pointed in a Northerly direction to get their bearings for some days now. Lightweight crampons and waterproof Hush Puppies have been taken for walkies and every member of the expedition has been given the lastest timings of aurora borealis. In final preparation for this long trek to the North we have been taking turns in the ice water filled tin bath in the yard, and so with the wind on our back (which is generally the best place for it) we have pulled the chokes out on our trusty fleet of Ford Anglias, slowly slipped the clutches and released the hand brakes - we are on our way - Beware.........

Depending on where you are near York, my route from Thirsk is to try to stay on the Motorway for as long as possible. So I get the M1, M62, M18, M180 to Barnetby where I leave to join the A18 to Louth. Much quicker than trying to hack your way along the country roads.

If you're Selby side, you probably want to pick up the M62 at J34.

Sounds like I should be there for the arrival. Ever since I had a trip to Stockholm I have had a penchant for Reindeer steaks.

Hmm - I wonder if Swan steaks are any better than Reindeer steaks?

Now Pete, we don't want to jeopardise the RC supply of cake for the weekend (exchanged for a certain request) do we?

Printed off another 50 copies of the Cadwell Post maps - some may have to share...

Just over 24 hours to go to this awesome meeting. Plenty of time to volunteer or turn up on the day - you will be made welcome either way...
