(To be honest, it probably doesn't even represent the opinions of the poster when they aren't ranting.)

Again we are getting to the stage where people aren't entering in good time. I can't stress how important it is to get entries in in time. People entering late causes me untold hassle with getting the tickets out on time, especially with this meeting as friday is a BH!

I'm also having trouble understanding why all these cars aren't ready. I know some people have had extenuating circumstances which has meant they haven't been able to work on their cars, but some of you haven't. Also its not like you've not known when the season was going to start...its always the beginning to the middle of April!!

We now return you to our normal ramblings.

I think that's quite reasonable actually, there's no excuse for not entering in good time. I know this as I have entered DTR for Lydden and I don't think I'll be ready (for whatever reason). However I still made sure that I got my entry in and asked when I could withdraw if necessary. It's my risk that I lose some of my entry fee, but to my mind that's a damn sight easier than rushing around and causing hassle for the (also very busy) organisers.

I'm with you Cheryl, you do a fine job.

Some of us are doing our best Chezza. As far as I was concerned the Tomcat was ready at Christmas. I took it to Dave Walker for mapping in January and he found an engine problem which meant that it had to come apart again.

Shortly after pulling it apart I became ill and was unable to work on it for over a month. This weekend will the first time that I can really devote some time to rebuilding the engine. I have a target at the moment of Snetterton on 26th May and I believe that, barring any setbacks, Alan is hoping to make that date with the Astra as well.

We hope to be swelling the Tin Top numbers soon.

As I said some people have had circumstances which have meant they can't work on their cars I know this, its just frustrating for us when were trying to get entries and that!

Still room for some tin tops on April 7th at Lydden. Send Chezza a PM if you want to enter, just £135 for two races.

I think Petes found an extra 100bhp in the Prelude; Hes been a bit quiet lately, even though my cheque books open. ( Keep it hush, dont want everyone to know ). Talking 49sec Indy at Brands. Is that quickish??

Dave,

Please send a cheque made out to Charitable Aid for Self Helpers to my address. The initials C A S H will do (saves ink and the planet!).
Just sign it and date it, I'll fill the rest in...

Rob.

Why can't you be like the rest of us and stick to blowing up engines in the race car ? Blowing up the road car too is just being greedy !

Well back from my test day and pleased to report i will be there next week even though:
Second session the car swaped ends for no apparent reason at the devils elbow. Noticed some smoke so drove very slowly back to the pits to discover that my brand new oil cooler had burst and smothered the engine in oil.
Bypassed the cooler and went out again car ran fine.
Lucky or what and how bad for a new cooler to do that?
Anyway heres to next saturday.

Cant understand why all this trouble with the power units at the last minute. My one had trouble with one of the feed pipes, had to get it cleared to bring feed pressure up to normal and reinforce the actual pipe, bloody marvelous technicians at Denmark Hill, highly recomended so Timmy will be at Lydden in the Fiesta,as long as the suspension is ok.By the way,it will be in a dull grey colour.Hope to be there as well if I can escape.

It's more of a trying to get the lazy git of a painter to do anything issue.
I'm not sure if I can take the responsibility of Eric for the day, Aunty P would not be amused with me if he broke down again.

The tin top challenge on May 5th is looking good. Andrew Busby and John Willcocks should be joining the BARC south east team. Basically its 16 a side with the CSCC national guys.
